Being Moroccan, I visited this superb Moroccan restaurant located in Old Lyon.
The menu is very diverse.
- For starters:
#ZAALOUK: This is a Moroccan-style eggplant caviar with a blend of spices. I've never eaten such a good ZAALOUK; the blend of spices and the olive oil are what make it so special. Beautifully presented.
For my main course, I ordered two tagines:
#The "TOUAREG": This is a tagine with candied fruit (prunes and apricots), toasted almonds, and a lamb shank. The sauce is incredibly smooth, and the taste is just like a good homemade version. The lamb shank is very tender and perfectly cooked.
#The "ADAM": This is a chicken tagine with preserved lemons and green olives. A chicken thigh was served, perfectly cooked and tender. The sauce was less rich than the previous one (more liquid), but the flavor was just as excellent.
For dessert:
"A SUMMER IN LA GOULETTE": a mandarin and lemon sorbet, seasonal fruits flavored with orange blossom water. A perfect way to end the meal.
The waiter was exceptionally kind.
