Le Tourasse sur Saint-Jean-De-Luz

A great, underrated restaurant. We had a platter (normally meant to be shared) and garlic prawns. Everything was delicious and very (too) generous portions, all for €55. What more could you ask for in peak season? A pleasant surprise. Well done!

Not exactly haute cuisine, but we thoroughly enjoyed the Basque burgers and grilled mussels. Good value for money considering the location and the summer season. Very friendly staff.

The food was decent, but not everyone had the same thing; our desserts were much lighter than those at the next table who had ordered the same thing. The welcome and staff were friendly, but there was a lack of organization during peak season. We had to be patient…

A nice little restaurant in the center of Saint-Jean-De-Luz. We ate Parillada de la mer. Mussels, prawns, scallops, salmon, hake, baby squid, razor clams... everything prepared à la plancha. The staff, young and enthusiastic, were super friendly. A place we will definitely return to. Top notch.

So it wasn't great, but there are certainly worse places... the wait was rather long, probably due to disorganization among the waitstaff. (They had a bad trip, poor communication between them, everyone was doing everything, and in the end, there were some mistakes...) Regarding the meal: The regional menu was a good idea, even if the black pudding and chorizo ​​casserole didn't meet my expectations (everything in the same dish 😒). My son's duck breast, advertised with a honey and Espelette pepper reduction, was clearly not there; it must have been left on the stove reducing. My daughter's "large" salad, a single main course, was the size of a starter; luckily, she has a small appetite. Expensive for what it was, though not unpleasant; Gordon Ramsay should pay it a visit. We won't be going back. Best of luck.

We went on a Sunday and had the regional menu for €25.90. For a weekend meal in a great location, I think it's good value for money. The portions were generous, and the food was tasty.

Lunch for two. Good meal. The hake was well-cooked and the Basque sundae was a hit. The price is reasonable for Saint-Jean-de-Luz. The service was adequate. We appreciated the waitress's cheerful disposition. Some of the negative reviews seem exaggerated to me.

Good meal with quality products... I particularly recommend the fish soup, it was delicious!

An interesting selection of dishes at reasonable prices. We chose the homemade paella and grilled prawns from the à la carte menu. Everything was very good, fresh, and cooked properly. The service was adequate. We were surprised by the bad reviews, but they recently changed chefs.
