Le Tourne-Dos sur Benodet

We received a very warm welcome at L’Ovny in Bénodet. The service was excellent and the food was truly delicious; we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The owners are lovely and very attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We look forward to seeing you again at Ô’Comptoir des Cocottes in Le Mans!

On Saturday, I ordered a rare ribeye steak. It arrived rare, almost medium. I reported the problem, which was acknowledged as a cooking error, but I ate the dish anyway. At the end of the meal, we were only offered coffee, even though I don't drink coffee. No other gesture of goodwill was made (for example, regarding the aperitif or dessert). I was disappointed with how the problem was handled. I won't be returning. One area for improvement would be a small light directly at the restaurant exit.

The price reflects the quality of the food; we weren't disappointed at all, quite the opposite, we'll gladly return. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

Go for it without hesitation! Having stayed in Bénodet with my family for a few days and tried several restaurants in the area, this is undoubtedly the best place on our list. It combines genuine friendliness, refined and delicious 100% homemade food, and a warm and unique setting! So much so that we went back for lunch a second time after having dinner there a few days earlier!

The restaurant is very nice, with lovely decor and a refined, cozy atmosphere. The staff gave us a warm welcome at the entrance. Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't open, even though my son asked, "Is the restaurant open?" The waitress replied, "Yes, any other questions?" It's a shame, it would have been a great experience for both children and adults, and that's partly why we came for dinner. The service was quite slow, and the dishes, once they arrived, lacked seasoning and were bland (salmon tartare, scallops, etc.). The lobster was undercooked. Personally, I found the sauerkraut delicious after the salmon tartare, which I was a little disappointed with in terms of taste. The children loved their burgers; they were delicious. My son ordered a citrus crème brûlée for dessert (supposedly the citrus flavor was subtle). It arrived barely lukewarm, cold underneath, with runny brown sugar and an overpowering orange flavor—a shame. However, I must say the presentation was very elegant. We felt like we were being watched at our table. The servers had lost their smiles. We understood that regulars were well catered for, but other customers were treated differently. It was a strange feeling that I didn't like.

The decor was very nice, but the price was a bit high because unfortunately the food was bland and undercooked, and the service was a bit slow.
