Le Verre A Soie sur Nyons

Man sitzt am Rande des Marktplatzes von Nyons unter den Arkaden in sehr schlicht-schöner Atmosphäre. Der Service und die Weinberatung sind kompetent und freundlich. Die asiatisch-französischen Gerichte schmecken sehr gut. Die Desserts mit großer Finesse sind ein Hochgenuss. Der Besuch im Le Verre à Soie ist ein Highlight des Urlaubs in der Provence.

Le Verre a Soie was exceptional fusion of French and Chinese -- the best of both. Get a reservation, they are only open a few days a week and they fill up fast. It was cool the night we ate here, so we chose inside, rather than the noisy terrace outside. It was peaceful and quiet with 100s of old, empty wine bottles everywhere. We started with a Serre Besson wine from Vinsobres; absolutely remarkable, and recommended by the owner. His wife handles the cooking. Menus are customizable so I started with some tempura fried prawns with a Chinese slaw salad. Next I had a white fish perfectly cooked and very tasty. The chicken tenders were delicious as well. Very affordable and exceptional cooking make this the best restaurant in Nyons.

Our taste buds are still buzzing about this succulent meal. Finesse and original seasonings make this restaurant rich. For wine and beer lovers, you will find very good advice and a nice menu. The restaurant to stop at, without a doubt!

We were here for the first time a year ago. In the evening, and it was wonderful. And so we have designed the itinerary to France this year so that we can stop off again in Nyons, this magical town. The verre a soie are two people. A couple. He used to be a sommelier in a top restaurant and does the service and his Taiwanese wife does the cooking. There are many dishes that can be prepared either French or Asian style. First of all: reservations are almost a must; the few places are quickly filled. The food is on a level that you really wouldn't expect in this price range. Terrific! Both the evening cuisine and the constantly changing lunch menu. When it comes to wine, particular emphasis is placed on regional products and here in the Drôme near the Rhone we are in a wine-growing paradise, with (still) outrageously low prices. The location in a wonderful historical ambience (if the weather permits under the arcades) and the hard-working, friendly and warm couple make every visit an experience. We're already looking forward to next year!
