Booked this place at the last minute as our other accommodation informed us they had bedbugs - obviously a common problem in Europe. Location was good, bus goes right past the door and the train station is about 5 - 10 minute walk away. Breakfast was basic but good, help yourself so no shortage. The room was fine no issues. We ate in the restaurant nearly every night, good value. A lot of the complaints seem to be about the building, it's a 150 years old so what do you expect? Staff were helpful, self check in which worked fine. It's a perfectly good place as long as you're not one of these moaners who what to pay bottom dollar and get 5 star service. I would happily stay here again.

I stayed 9 nights in this very noisy establishment. Avoid room 1 next to reception, which is like a children's playground where the kids shout and scream without the parents seeming to care. If you like the atmosphere of an English pub, then come; if you prefer peace and quiet, avoid this place! The breakfast is good. The heated ski boot room is a nice touch. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was practical in the room despite the lack of a shower curtain.

Great location… the ski bus stops right outside.
The capsule beds are well-designed, and there are even towels. A hot shower with plenty of pressure is right in the room.
It takes some getting used to with all the number combinations for the doors, etc.
It will be very difficult here without English.
Breakfast is basic, but there's a good selection.
Coffee and tea are free.
There's also a small book exchange corner.
It's pretty basic, but still delicious.

Accommodation was very basic and in dire need of a refresh, but the rooms were clean along with linen and towels. Bathroom looked to have been modernised more recently and shower was great. Sink was too small and practically had to head butt the wall to wash your face.
Staff were friendly, helpful and the bar had a good atmosphere. Kitchen was closed on the Tuesday and Wednesday so we never had a chance to eat there but reports from other patrons was that the food was good and reasonable priced. Breakfast again was very basic but suited our needs and was help yourself.
The hotel is about a 20 min walk to town centre but there are bus stops just outside, bus we wanted was every 30 mins.
We got a good deal and personally it was value for money and met our needs.

vert lodge was great all round, my first stay in a hostel and at 65 wife and friends thought l'd not like it, but was great. Ski holiday by myself is not cheap but this was such good value, slept like a log, comfortable room clean and warm, ensuite facilities good with powerful shower and plenty of hot water. Breakfast included again very good selection and lots of coffee. Ski bus stop right outside lodge. Night time bar good fun, staff friendly. People from all over the world which made for an interesting time. Last night a Live band - fantastic if there'd been a powder day it would have made it one of the best holidays, but the Vert Lodge can't control the weather! I'll be back.

A hostel-style hotel where we felt very comfortable, even though we're in our sixties 😂
Very reasonable price for Chamonix: €210 for 3 nights including breakfast. Small but clean and well-heated room, comfortable and clean bed, shower with no hot water problems. Just the bedside lamps could use some updating. Excellent location, a 20-minute walk from the town center. Bar with a pool table, reasonably priced drinks and meals. Great atmosphere!
The included breakfast is all-you-can-eat and varied: fresh bread, butter, jams, Nutella, yogurt, cereals, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, etc.

Pleasantly surprised by the hostel! The place is clean, the restaurant is nice, the shared rooms are spacious, and everyone has their own privacy! Communication via messaging is clear and responsive.
