Le Vertugadin sur Chantilly

Le Vertugadin has become a traditional stop for me at the start of a weekend in Normandy. Located a stone's throw from the stables of the Château de Chantilly, this French restaurant remains a sure bet. The service is dynamic, friendly, and efficient: nothing to complain about. The cuisine is excellent, with a real selection and high-quality ingredients, perfectly executed. This time, I opted for the set menu; the value for money was truly competitive for an establishment of this caliber. I had previously ordered à la carte and it was a delight, but on the other hand, the prices quickly add up: the Tournedos Rossini alone, I believe, exceeded the price of two complete set menus (starter/main course/dessert + drinks). It's a very good place. The only slight drawback: the decor. A mix of antiques, vintage finds, and more modern, sometimes surprising, elements (special mention to the men's restrooms…surprising, original, but not in the best taste), creates a somewhat cluttered impression and doesn't really tell a coherent story. It's a shame, because the quality of the food deserves a more harmonious setting. That said, the spacious dining room and the terrace in summer are a real plus. An address I still recommend for the quality of its cuisine and service.

A pleasant and very good restaurant. The atmosphere and the welcome were warm. There was a wide selection of dishes, starters and desserts, and everything was really good.

There's genius in this kitchen!

What an amazing place. We were heading from Rouen to Riems and this was a perfect halfway point to stop for lunch. It was a Sunday and we arrived at noon and we were offered a table very quickly. The service was great although to their credit they were just setting up so a little slow as many people were all arriving at the same time. The food was lovely. The owner was very helpful and great fun. We were tempted at the last minute to sample the Chantilly Cream. Im so pleased we did! You cant go to Chantilly and not have the iconic cream!.

We stumbled into this restaurant by chance and were pleasantly surprised by the authentic, generous, and locally sourced cuisine, as well as the friendly yet professional service. The owner is very approachable, and the atmosphere is welcoming. A must-try!

Excellent restaurant located near the stables of Chantilly Castle. A wide selection on the menu to suit many budgets (be sure to read the menu carefully; the quotes inside are very funny). The service is top-notch, and the atmosphere inside is timeless, making it a truly unique experience. Highly recommended.
