Le Vesuvio sur Cannes

We stumbled upon this café/restaurant and are so glad we stopped. We had an excellent meal. Although we were seated near other diners, the atmosphere was lovely and the food incredible. A very relaxing evening, exactly what we needed. All the dishes were delicious, but we saw other customers ordering profiteroles and couldn't resist—absolutely amazing! We will definitely return; you won't regret it. This is one of the oldest family-run restaurants in Cannes. We stayed in Cannes for a week and searched for this restaurant every day; I always want to return. This restaurant was recommended by a local, and it's the best restaurant in Cannes—that's for sure! The wine selection, the food, the staff, and the restaurant's location are incredible! I highly recommend it 🩷 Vesuvio is a true Cannes institution. You can't miss this iconic address, known to both locals and visitors. The food is generous, efficient, and predictable, with a menu that delivers in a lively, typically Cannes atmosphere. The service is professional despite the frequent crowds. A legendary spot, ideal for soaking up the Cannes atmosphere and sharing a great time, whether with friends, family, or as a couple.

Passing through Cannes for one night, I tried Vesuvio, this institution I'd heard so much about. The atmosphere is that of a luxury tourist canteen. Crowded, bustling, and above all, noisy. However, contrary to some reviews, the service was impeccable. Smiles, attentiveness, and efficiency. As for the food, everything was excellent, from the eggplant parmigiana to the salmon and avocado tartare (absolutely divine), not forgetting the Burrata tomato, and the brasserie staple: the floating island (delicious). All this accompanied by a Porn Star. I'm talking about the cocktail… obviously. The prices are somewhat high, but we're in Cannes, in an ideal location, and the scenery inevitably ends up on the bill. A very good experience, although I'd probably go back off-season, when there are fewer people and fewer decibels.

The servers were stressed, but everyone worked quickly and efficiently. The pizzas were amazing (so I'm adding a star for the food just for that). (Beware of the air conditioning; bring a light sweater just in case). You can't make reservations; you have to queue. (What a shame). Sometimes the wait is quick, sometimes very long. It's noisy. In August, there wasn't a restroom attendant like in previous years, so the toilets were extremely dirty. I recommend it.

A very pleasant surprise since the change of ownership! We had a wonderful time at Vésuvio. A very warm welcome, a lovely atmosphere, and a superb meal. A huge shout-out to Lola, who greeted us with such kindness and good humor. Smiling, attentive, and truly lovely, she greatly contributed to making our evening fantastic. A new team that really makes you want to come back. I highly recommend it!
