Le Vieux-Megève sur Megeve

We discovered this restaurant this evening with my partner and our son, and it was love at first bite. The staff is lovely, with attentive service provided by Claire, and Aurélie, the manager, is also very pleasant and welcoming. A typical restaurant with a warm atmosphere and traditional cuisine: exactly what you dream of when you come to Megève. We enjoyed it so much that we've already booked for another evening. A flawless experience from start to finish. Thank you to the whole team for this wonderful and delicious meal.

Very cozy atmosphere, good if you want fondue! Incredible service. If you see a man named Adam, he is wonderful! Absolutely best service! Met him on the first day, said goodbye on the last, he introduced us to a wonderful experience with his hospitality and genuine personality! Thank you Adam!

Very friendly welcome, excellent service, very responsive, top-notch staff… The three-cheese fondue is excellent.

Honestly, the best fondue we've had in Megève. The Comté cheese fondue. The Berthoux cheese is also excellent, as is the onion soup. I highly recommend it! ++++ This restaurant deserves a better rating.

A real treat! The fondue was really good and plentiful. The servers were very pleasant. We'll be back if we're ever in Megève again!

Unfortunately, it feels as though—despite the image the restaurant aims to project—profit clearly takes precedence over the guest experience. While the food was good (even if the cheese fondue portions were quite small) and the staff was friendly, the restaurant seems to prioritize fitting in as many tables as possible to maximize occupancy. Then, at 9:20 p.m., a waiter passes by to inform you that the table will need to be vacated shortly for the next service. This falls well below the standards the restaurant claims to uphold and results in a disappointing customer experience, especially given the prices. It’s a shame, because the elements for a great evening are there, but it feels like the goal is to serve as many customers as possible rather than to ensure their satisfaction.
