The fondue was very good, and the place was quite nice, although very noisy. The welcome was very pleasant, and the service was attentive. The price was very high, but average for Megève.

My favourite is the truffle fondue! It is absolutely delicious. The roast salmon was so yummy and the meat fondue varietals. Lovely service and pleasant staff. Fantastic main playlist. Delightful ambience. Our second time visiting back again- we love it and you will too.

A very warm welcome, helpful staff (special mention for Jordan), and attentive service. I had a "Les Fermes de Marie" fondue which was generous and delicious, as well as a Génépi crème brûlée that had a lovely flavor.

Excellent raclette and fondue restaurant, but one major drawback: the price of the braserade is absolutely exorbitant for the small amount of meat – €84 for two people! And if you ask for more meat, it's an extra charge! Outrageous!

Loved it. Best fondue I’ve ever had — and anyone complaining about this place doesn’t know a great vibe! Such a fun spot.

Le Vieux Megève turned a long, exhausting day on the slopes into one of the most memorable meals of the trip. The moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in warmth. Small, intimate tables packed close together, rustic wood interiors, and a lively buzz that makes it feel less like a restaurant and more like a big family dinner you somehow got invited to. We went all in with the fondue, raclette, and filet au bœuf. The fondue claims to be the best in Megève and honestly, it might not be exaggerating. Creamy, rich, perfectly balanced, and dangerously easy to keep dipping into. But the real star of the night was the raclette. We scraped, poured, and finished every bit of that melted cheese, working our way through the entire bucket of potatoes without hesitation. Pure alpine indulgence and exactly what you crave after hours in the cold. The filet au bœuf was cooked beautifully, tender and comforting, but the raclette definitely stole the show and took over the table. After a full day skiing, this was the kind of meal that completely hits the spot and brings everyone back to life. Le Vieux Megève is alpine comfort food done right. Simple, lively, and full of flavor. If you’re visiting Megève, it’s one of those places you absolutely have to experience. The three-cheese fondue was excellent and the service very friendly! However, €38 per person for the fondue is indeed excessive!

An excellent spot for fondue lovers! We loved our experience at this restaurant specializing in Savoyard fondue. The ingredients are top-quality, the portions generous, and the atmosphere warm and inviting. Special mention goes to the truffle and porcini mushroom fondues, absolutely delicious and incredibly fragrant—a real treat (photo attached 📸). The only slight drawback is the bread, which could be of higher quality or offered in a wider variety (country bread, multigrain bread, rye bread, etc.) to truly complement the exceptional quality of the cheese. It was a wonderful discovery, and I highly recommend it. We will definitely be back!

Restaurant Le Prieure

19/07/2026: I have travelled extensively over more than 40 years, dining in restaurants ranging from small family-run places to Michelin three-star establishments. This is my honest review of the restaurant Le Prieuré in Megève, France. We had a wonderful lunch at this charming French bistro in the heart of Megève, right next to the church on the village square. The shaded terrace is a lovely place to enjoy a relaxed summer meal, and the staff were genuinely warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. We chose the daily set menu, which offered excellent value for money. It started with a beautifully presented smoked beet carpaccio, sliced paper-thin and wonderfully fresh and summery. The main course was a perfectly cooked pork tenderloin with a rich wine sauce and crispy baby potatoes. We also ordered the poultry with morel sauce, which was equally delicious. The chicken was of excellent quality, with a texture reminiscent of Bresse poultry, and the sauce was generous with morels, complemented by other mushrooms for extra depth of flavour. To finish, we enjoyed a creamy tiramisu topped with crunchy hazelnuts, a truly indulgent dessert. Everything was well prepared, tasty, and fairly priced, and the friendly service made the experience even more enjoyable. The only small point worth mentioning is that the main course took a little longer than expected to arrive. Other than that, it was an excellent experience, and we would happily return.
13/07/2026: Really good quality, good food, service and atmosphère. Perfect meat.
