Le Vilargene sur Gouvieux

Brunch for my lover's birthday on a Sunday at the end of August. In terms of food, it was okay, nothing more. The service was not the best - always had to look for someone to ask for water, clear the table. Then as we were the last, the team put everything away in front of us - and even vacuumed the inside! We were on the terrace - really missing a gardener - too bad because the castle is pretty in front when you arrive, but is in serious need of a refresh behind.

Very good stay Clean and spacious room, very friendly staff and excellent swimming pool. The place is ideal for having a good time and relaxing.

Venues en groupe d’émies, nous a o s été déçues pour une restaurant gastronomique. Du veau aux morilles mais on ne les trouve pas où elles sont masquées par une préparation anisée et aillée qui l’emporte sur les autres goûts. Un canard trop cuit. Dès ravioles bourratives avec trop de fromage…. Voici pour la cuisine; bonne mais pas exceptionnelle. Mais un autre bémol important est le service. Un temps interminable pour venir prendre la commande, et pour débarrasser. Un accompagnement oublié et commandé en urgence mais servi trop tard. Des verres sales changés mais déjà remplis d’eau minérale non remplacée. Pas de proposition de remettre du pain. Table carrément oubliée après le dessert malgré des vas et viens incessants. Serveurs très gentils et agréables mais au final service manquant d’efficacité, qui le positionne encore un cran en dessous de la cuisine. Bref on va au Montvilagene pour le cadre pittoresque du château mais pas pour le restaurant. Dommage, j’avais meilleur souvenir de ma dernière visite il y a 4 ans.

Magnificent setting, the spaces are well appointed, the seminar rooms very well equipped. Good cuisine, well-equipped rooms, a little lacking in sound insulation but the places and the setting are effective on this point.

We had a great weekend at this hotel. The staff is really very friendly and attentive, it's a pleasure. The standard room was very nice, we don't hide the expensive rate but given the location of the hotel and its 4* rating it's not surprising. We particularly appreciated the little touches in this one (bottle of water, cakes, coffee, tea). The setting is very beautiful and pleasant, parking is easy, the hotel is magnificent. The meal at the restaurant was delicious, the salmon very tender and the duck very tasty. The spa area is very pleasant, here too the staff takes great care! The breakfast is very complete, we would have appreciated some freshly cut fruit if we want to nibble. Thank you for this stay, we will come back with pleasure.

Exceptional magical place!!! We celebrated my wife's 60th birthday which we will never forget thanks to the staff's incredible kindness and professionalism. The rooms are magnificent as usual, superb spa and excellent dinner and brunch. Special mention to Mr Bouteville who, as always, knew how to make our dreams come true and surprise us. See you soon
