16/09/2026: I organized an after-work get-together at the Oz bar. There were about 40 of us. It was great because we had planned the evening well with Sylvie's help: choosing the drinks and sharing platters. In short, we had a fantastic time! Everyone was delighted, myself included! 04/08/2026: My second visit to Le Comptoir in Neuilly-sur-Seine, and from the moment I crossed the threshold, I had that rare feeling of rediscovering a place that makes you feel good. Because beyond being a restaurant, it's a world apart. The decor had already won me over the first time, but this time, I took the time to really appreciate it: the immense bookcase that gives the room its soul, the chandelier with its delicately diffused light that envelops you without ever being harsh, the large, imposing, and welcoming bar that seems to invite you to slow down… and the sofas, the plush cushions where you sink in with the comfort of a five-star lounge. Nothing is left to chance, and yet everything feels natural. That's understated elegance.
Then there was that suspended moment that I think will stay with me forever: I was recognized. Simply. With a genuine smile. Just my second visit, and the welcome was the kind reserved for a regular. It's not a mere formality, it's a deliberate choice. Many fine dining establishments know how to do this, but here, it never feels mechanical: it feels like genuine care, proof that the customer exists beyond the table. It's not a detail, it's fundamental. It's what transforms a truly excellent lunch into a warming memory.
And then comes the dish. A sirloin steak served with a perfectly balanced, lightly spiced Thai sauce. The spice is subtle, awakening without burning, dancing with the meat without ever overpowering it. A sauce conceived with precision, where each ingredient has its place. But what truly moved me was this subtle yet crucial detail: the dish is warm. Warm, so that the last bite is at the same temperature as the first. So that you can take your time, savor the dish, put down your cutlery, and take another bite, without ever seeing the magic fade. It's a care you don't see, but you feel deeply. It's a respect for the product and for the customer taken to such an exacting level that it borders on exquisite delicacy.
It's these successive layers of attention that make Le Comptoir a truly special place: the soothing ambiance, the memories of familiar faces, the warm food, and a team that makes you feel every day is unique for them too. There's a humility in this excellence: luxury isn't overdone, it's experienced with utter simplicity.
