One of the best restaurants in the area! A modern, creative, and delicious menu. The wines and cocktails are excellent. I'm a regular customer at both the restaurant and the bar/tapas area, and I'm always pleasantly surprised with every bite. The service staff is incredibly friendly and professional! Come without hesitation!

The chef is fantastic. Exceptional cuisine, the fish was cooked to perfection, and as a bonus, the chef even came to greet you in the dining room. I highly recommend it.

A lovely Sunday lunch with the family at this beautifully decorated restaurant. The food was delicious, made with quality ingredients, and the service was excellent, provided by very pleasant staff. An experience to be repeated. Highly recommended.

I had lunch with a friend in February 2026, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The cuisine was refined, the service attentive, the touches thoughtful, and the presentation beautiful, all in a charming setting in the town of Barbizon. A minor drawback, though not unpleasant, was the lack of soap in the restrooms, and the place could have used a little freshening up. I wholeheartedly recommend this elegant establishment for an unforgettable experience.

We appreciated the creative flavor combinations...the pearls accompanying the oysters, the Japanese-style mushrooms perfectly complementing the sea bass...the sumptuous purée... The chef is radiant, generous, and attentive, and we enjoyed chatting with her. A wonderful experience in an elegantly renovated setting! Thank you so much! 💫

A notch below the Relais de Barbizon. Nothing particularly "wow," but no disappointment either (the pan-seared scallops were excellent, in particular) after a long hike. The wine list has one or two interesting bottles. The setting is pleasant, with an artistic style reminiscent of the Auberge Ganne. One understands the economic challenges of running such a place, which are quite a puzzle these days outside of peak season. Located in the middle of the Grande Rue, very close to the bus stop for Avon train station.

We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant, which recently changed ownership and staff. The level of quality is worthy of a Michelin star, both for its exquisitely prepared dishes (the pâté en croûte is a treasure trove of delicate flavors and textures, the smoked duck breast with its cooking juices, Robuchon-style mashed potatoes, and mushrooms is a true culinary discovery, and the crêpe Suzette with its ice cream is the best we've ever had) and for the little extras, particularly the basket of assorted breads served warm with tongs. The wine pairing was a perfect match for the dishes. And the service was very pleasant, warm, and professional! We will definitely be back!

28/03/2026: A very pleasant experience. The staff went out of their way to ensure my dinner was enjoyable. A warm, family atmosphere. Excellent food and wine. I will definitely return.
22/03/2026: We went as a family yesterday, March 21st. I recommend making a reservation. I did so by phone. Aperitif and amuse-bouche. Offal dish: a nice selection. Homemade tartare, dessert, and coffee. A good meal in a beautiful setting. We will return; the garden must be lovely in the summer. And it was already fully booked. The staff is super efficient; it was almost full. But they gave attention to each table with a smile. 😀

Le Relais de Barbizon

02/03/2026: We had some doubts after browsing online. We were wrong, despite the restaurant's high volume of customers slightly impacting the continuity of service. The dishes were truly excellent: lobster ravioli with lightly salted beurre monté, just the right hint of iodine; a beautiful sea bass baked in a salt crust "like on the banks of the Bosphorus," if I may say so, with truffle oil mashed potatoes. The desserts were equally impressive, with Grand Marnier soufflé and flambéed pineapple. The reality on the plate lived up to the enticing descriptions, which is hardly surprising: Chef Mikael Briens is a well-traveled Breton. As for the manager of this lovely establishment, he has selected some excellent wines, such as the Côtes de Provence from Domaine Ott, Clos Mireille Blanc de Blancs (Sémillon/Rolle); and he is eager to further enhance the wine list. A very nice prelude, in short, to the visit of the incredible Auberge Ganne, which houses the departmental museum of the painters of Barbizon, and then of the Millet Workshop with its friendly Lebanese caretaker.
22/02/2026: Flawless! Excellent cuisine and a warm atmosphere. "You feel at home as soon as you walk in, and the food is divine." A chill lounge area where you can enjoy excellent sushi and cocktails. I highly recommend this lovely establishment.
