It's increasingly difficult to eat well on set without feeling like you're being ripped off and I'm delighted to discover this address.
We were very well received by the waitresses who seated us upstairs at a small table overlooking the kitchen through a pretty aquarium.
I took the kidneys as a starter, Madame took the egg and we both took the sweetbreads as a main course on a menu that was varied enough without being extensive.
We had a blast. The kidneys were delicious, perfectly seared and just pink to the core with small vegetables and a superb sauce. For those who have reservations, don't hesitate to try them, they were super good with a really light offal taste. It's not easy to treat this kind of product so well. Madame also seemed very happy with her fried soft-boiled egg which seemed perfectly cooked (again, it's not easy)
Concerning the meunière sweetbreads, it was also really very good. A very hearty plate with nice pieces that are very crispy on the outside while remaining tender. A little sauce and a medley of varied fresh vegetables very well cooked.
We didn't have desserts but what came out of the kitchen looked great.
Well done and thank you to the kitchen team as well as the waitresses who were very pleasant and efficient. We see that there are people who know their job and who do it well.
In total we got €106 with 2 aperitifs, 2 glasses of wine, 2 starters and 2 main courses. It is very reasonable given the location, the quality of the products and the quantities on the plate.

A restaurant worthy of the name. A nugget. We just had a family meal there. We will come back. From aperitif to dessert, there is no false note.
Plates as beautiful as they are delicious. In short, to die for! Perfect service, a warm welcome.

Lieu très convivial et chaleureux avec la cheminée pour ceux qui mangent au rez de chaussée. Les plats sont copieux et très bien présentés. Pour moi, un sans faute !

Un super moment dans cet agréable restaurant du vieil Angoulême entrée plat dessert rien à redire tout est bon un gros plus pour le foie gras poêlé en entrée le chef assure et le service est très agréable aussi allez y sans hésiter!!
