Don't hesitate to step inside this establishment and enjoy the lovely garden out back.
Everything is great, the staff is friendly and professional, and the food is delicious and refined.

Very disappointed. Having been to this restaurant before, the setting was nice, and still is, but the prices have gone up, the food isn't exceptional, and the wait is incredibly long... after more than two hours, we still didn't get dessert... and yet it was for a birthday, so a real disappointment... special mention to the young apprentice who works hard and thus manages to improve the rating I'm giving...

I've always loved this magical place, nestled between the square and the garden, the comfort and intimacy of its interior spaces... and I wasn't disappointed by Le Louvel, both for its excellent value (set menu at €36), the delicious flavors (sliced duck breast with Pineau sauce), the Chardonnay Viognier, and the friendly, professional staff.

Very friendly, attentive and efficient service. Came for lunch as we passed by. The 'plat du jour' and café gourmandise were superbly cooked and presented. Imaginitive cookinbg and at a very reasonable price. Had a glass of Chenin Blanc - wine by the glass can be very risky. This was very good indeed. Bravo.

What a great find this restaurant is, right in the heart of Angoulême! Friendly service, welcoming and professional staff. The meal... the daily special was excellent, as was the dessert... mmm!
I highly recommend this establishment with its shaded outdoor terrace at the back.

A good restaurant in Angoulême with a lovely setting.
The meal was good overall. One minor drawback: I found the menu wasn't detailed enough, particularly regarding the burger and the steak tartare, in which I thought I recognized mango, which wasn't listed on the menu.

Lovely place, we had generous salads, an excellent vegetarian burger, and a very good steak tartare.
The staff is delightful. The restaurant accepts holiday vouchers, a definite plus!

Regular customers for the past four years, we chose Le Louvel to celebrate our wedding reception on July 17, 2026.
Beyond the consistently excellent cuisine, featuring fresh ingredients prepared with expertise and passion, the service was impeccable, with thoughtful touches for both our guests and ourselves. This day will remain exceptional, largely thanks to the entire team at Le Louvel.
A special mention goes to Delphine and Christophe for their kindness, generosity, and warmth. We look forward to returning to Le Louvel for more meals and memorable moments.
