Second brunch at Frères Marchand.
We came in April 2025 and had a 5-star experience.
This time, we were disappointed with the brunch on March 15, 2026, for several reasons:
- The portions were generally much smaller compared to last year.
- The savory options were no longer as varied or frequently offered.
- €8.50 for a one-liter bottle of sparkling water... That's quite expensive.
- Only three sweet options (a quarter of a very dry waffle, a caramel pancake, and a slice of blueberry tart that was only 1.5 cm wide).
- The price had increased to €36.90 (compared to €31 in 2025).
Fortunately, the cheeses and charcuterie were still of very high quality, and coffee/tea and orange juice were still unlimited.
It was still a lovely experience, but the price and the reduced selection make us hesitate to return.

It took 45 minutes just to take our drink order. I still recommend it, though.

We received a very warm welcome at Frères Marchand's yesterday; the sauerkraut was excellent and plentiful.

Very good, we had raclette with cheese and potatoes (new potatoes or grated potatoes), which are unlimited if you want. We received a warm welcome.

We had a very good meal. The products were high quality, both the charcuterie and the cheeses. We particularly enjoyed the potato pancakes. The raclette and cheese fondue are all-you-can-eat, but personally, the portion offered was sufficient for us. The dining area is pleasant. There is also a terrace.

A very good restaurant with generous portions.
However, the only downside concerns the service. Some servers are sometimes disrespectful: they rush us when ordering, address us informally when they're annoyed, and interrupt by saying "wait" to the person speaking, claiming they want to do things in the proper order.
On several occasions, we also had to ask them because side dishes had been forgotten. When paying, we had to choose whether or not to leave a tip. I chose not to; the server saw this and, once the payment was processed, gestured for me to leave, saying "come on, come on, come on."
For a restaurant that charges €15 per person for no-shows on the day of a reservation, I find it particularly audacious to be treated this way during service.

The restaurant is beautiful. We had a wonderful meal; everything was excellent. And the servers were incredibly friendly!
