Les Jardins d'Epicure sur Bray-Et-Lu

We dined at this establishment very recently. To begin with, the setting is truly superb, both outside and inside the restaurant. Beautiful, clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. We ordered a set menu and some à la carte dishes. The dishes were all very good, refined, beautifully presented, made with quality ingredients, and the sauces and wine pairings were excellent. However, we noticed a significant difference between the à la carte menu and the set menu. While some difference is normal, in this case, it was quite pronounced. I must emphasize that the dishes were nonetheless very good. The service was very pleasant, relaxed, and attentive to our requests. Regarding the price, we found it slightly high for the food and drinks, spending almost €100 per person. The cocktails, on the other hand, were very well made. It remains a very fine restaurant that we will likely return to.

A very pretty estate, calm and relaxing.

We just returned from a two-night weekend at the property. After our experience at Le Clos, we wanted to try the gardens, and the weekend was just as enjoyable. Dinner with the surprise menu was perfect, with great respect for the constraints we had discussed at the time of booking. The staff was also excellent. Regarding the room, a significant point of clarification: it's not a king-size bed, but a double bed with two mattresses, which makes a big difference in comfort for a couple. However, we still slept very well. The grounds were very peaceful, despite what appeared to be a wedding taking place. As for breakfast, the room is small, and the tables are very close together, making you want to go to the adjoining restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic, I highly recommend it, and the restaurant was a delight.

A beautiful establishment nestled in a quiet park.

As part of the "Madame Thursday" package, there wasn't much choice of room. The carpet in the "royal" room had two large stains. There was no hot water or sink in the bathroom. A bit disappointing for a 4-star hotel… perhaps the other rooms and suites were better? On the other hand, the hotel restaurant is perfect. The 6-course gourmet meal was delicious, and the servers were very pleasant, offering wine recommendations. However, breakfast was disappointing. The receptionist was very pleasant.

The experience began from the moment we arrived, greeted by a warm and welcoming Magalie, who was kind, attentive, and exceptionally hospitable. The meal was delicious, with the staff taking excellent care of us. It was a pleasure to be swept away on this culinary journey. The decor is majestic and creates a wonderfully intimate atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay; we overlooked the minor details that could be improved because we were truly in a magical interlude. Thank you for everything. Beautiful estate, a true haven of peace, a relaxing retreat in a lovely wooded setting. The restaurant is very attractively decorated. The service is exceptional, worthy of a 4-star establishment; the dishes are excellent, and the staff is incredibly attentive. The gardens are beautiful and well-maintained. However, the establishment does not deserve its 4 stars. The buildings are dilapidated, the paint is peeling, the wallpaper is coming off, the shutters are damaged, and sometimes only one shutter is working. Very surprising. The Harlequin suite, in which we stayed, should be avoided. It's simply unacceptable to offer it. The jacuzzi jets have rust stains, the basin is in a deplorable state, discolored, there are traces of mold on the bathroom ceiling, broken tiles on the walls, and the overall finish is absolutely appalling. In the room, the wallpaper is peeling, sometimes even torn. There are piles of bird droppings on the windowsills. The terrace in front of the building is crumbling. Tiles have popped out. The outdoor lampposts near the bridge are in very poor condition, one of them hanging by only a single screw. There is a blatant and obvious lack of maintenance. Some window sills are broken and cracked. In the breakfast room, streaks of dust appear between the wall lights and the ceiling. The massage offered was well done, except for the room temperature; my partner was cold. No relaxing music, no heated table, for €100. Astonishing! I give the restaurant 5 stars; it is fabulous. The chef knows his craft and creates beautiful and, above all, delicious dishes! The service is impeccable; kudos to the waitstaff. I enjoyed watching the gardener at work; he has a lot on his plate every day. Overall, I have mixed feelings. The strong points are the restaurant, the staff, and the gardens. The weak points are numerous, which is a shame.
