Les Jardins Du Capitole sur Nice

I stoped by for a late lunch while walking the Prom. I had an excellent fish soup with all the accompaniments. It was nice that the kitchen was open at 15:00

Fresh and excellent mussels marinière or chicken (my mother is from Brittany) with homemade fries, a crispy and delicious pizza accompanied by a kir and two pitchers of white wine, followed by a scoop of rum raisin ice cream and two coffees for €80, in a professional but pleasant atmosphere. The owner is friendly and well-liked by the two waitresses; you can feel it in the atmosphere. What's there to complain about? I was worried about it being a tourist trap, as mentioned above, but I'll definitely go back for my own enjoyment. Personally, I could have done without the pianist (too loud to have a conversation), but otherwise, don't change a thing, THANK YOU!!

It's pleasant to sip a drink there during the day facing the beach or in the evening.

We ate dinner there several times during a week-long holiday and were never disappointed. Excellent pasta, pizza, fish dishes, etc., with very friendly and attentive service.

"The terrace with a view (and optional service)" The atmosphere: This is the ultimate "look at me" spot. Located facing the sea, it's the perfect place to sip a drink while watching passersby sweat on the Promenade des Anglais as you enjoy the sea breeze. The decor is rather chic, the location is prime, and you immediately feel like you're on the French Riviera. The highlights: The unbeatable location: Let's be honest, you're paying rent. Having breakfast or a cocktail overlooking the blue of the Mediterranean is an experience you never tire of. The generous breakfast: This is often the point that pleases everyone. The breakfast options are generous and allow you to start the day with a feeling of privilege (before the crowds arrive). Cleanliness: Overall, the place is well-maintained and the overall aesthetic is refined. It's clean, it's beautiful, it's Instagrammable. The cheeky side (unfiltered reality): The "Express Service" (or not): Depending on the waiters' mood and the alignment of the stars, you can be served in two minutes or have time to learn Japanese between ordering and your coffee arriving. Some waiters seem to have taken the "slow life" philosophy a little too literally. The "Prison Gate" welcome: Friendliness can be hit or miss. You sometimes get the feeling that the staff are a bit jaded by the influx of tourists. A smile is sometimes as rare as a free parking space in Nice in the middle of August. The "Luxury Sucks" prices: Get your Gold card ready. Between sodas that cost as much as a barrel of oil and dishes that don't exactly revolutionize gastronomy, your wallet is going to go on a diet. You're paying for the view, we told you! The classic tourist trap: The food is decent, but nothing special. It's the kind of place where the dish is acceptable, but you think to yourself, "Hey, I could have had the same thing for €10 less two streets away" (albeit without the sea). Verdict: The Jardins du Capitole is a bit like a fancy rental car: great for showing off and taking photos, but the engine sometimes makes strange noises. Go for the breathtaking view, a drink at sunset, or an early brunch, but be prepared to wait and have a hefty bank account.

Unfriendly service, not a great welcome

This restaurant was recommended by my hotel because I wanted to try the beef tartare. The welcome was very professional (from the manager or owner). Once seated, the service was a bit slow; my waitress wasn't the fastest. But hey, I was on vacation. The manager came back to take my drink order, and then my waitress came to take my order. The oysters were perfect, and the tartare was exactly what I wanted. The manager came around to my table and the other customers' tables several times to check if everything was alright. I think it's a shame the waitress seemed a bit lost. To err is human. Until I left, I would say I am very grateful for the food and the professionalism of the manager or owner. I recommended the restaurant to the reception of the hotel where I was staying because they had recommended it to me, but they had never recommended it before.

A lovely restaurant on the Promenade des Anglais. Good food, a pleasant atmosphere with a view of the beautiful promenade and the sea. The price-performance ratio is also absolutely fine. What more could you want? Everything is perfect! We've been here several times and will definitely come back!
