Very good restaurant we will return

I found a great little gem in Montagne, Saint-Emilion. The food was excellent, as was the service. My Rump steak dish was cooked perfectly (medium), and it was not tough but rather juicy. It came with an adequate amount of nicely fried thin chips and French style green beans. It was great! My wife's chicken dish was also excellent. The owner/waiter provided a great suggestion for a local red wine from Montagne (that went well with my Rump steak but also my wife's chicken dish), as well as a fantastic suggestion of a selection of cheeses for dessert. This place is a great place for tasty local French food that local people want to eat (and tasty local wines to go along with the great food), ... as well as us visitors to the area (wanting a change from gourmet styled affairs). I so recommend this restaurant (and I recommend asking the owner/waiter for suggestions - he speaks excellent English!). Great value for the money. Too bad the weather wasn't good enough to eat outside.

Very tasty meat, tasty thyme sauce and mashed potatoes. Very friendly service. Went there twice for dinner and it was very good both times. And at very reasonable prices.

We were able to have lunch there despite our late arrival. We had a great time there, the room is tastefully decorated, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, the team is very pleasant. As for the cuisine, it is simply excellent, we enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. Thanks again to the whole team!

On the way to Saint Emillion, accompanied by some French friends, we stopped to eat at this cozy restaurant. It is not what in Spain we usually call "menu del dia", but the quality was excellent. Tomatoes freshly picked from their garden, a delicious moussaka and a flan for dessert. The price is much more than reasonable and the service is great. If we return to the area we will repeat without a doubt

Delicious food in a beautiful restaurant with attention to local products. Friendly service. Cozy terrace with a view of the garden. Children are also welcome with an adapted menu in an affordable formula. Extensive selected wine list with recommendation for local/nearby winery. Price/quality correct. Definitely recommended for those staying in the area.

Attractive restaurant right in front of a vineyard on the very edge of Montagne. Easily accessible, with more than ample parking right outside the restaurant and its pleasant garden. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and were led out to join the rest of the punters on the small patio adjacent to the garden. Despite it being a July evening, it wasn't exactly tropical weather and there was a marked coolness in the air. Quite a functional menu, but there was rather an intriguing savoury pancake sub-option featuring buckwheat pancakes i.e. the galette . I've had these elsewhere in France, and they have always been rather fun; all folded up with usually a fried egg radiant in the hole in the middle. Not here; Mrs EPR's ham, egg and cheese example had a slight fold. Mine was just flat with duck breast and chips heaped on top. Really nothing special and it all became cold very quickly - hardly surprising. Learning nothing, our heads were turned by the prospect of fresh crepes for dessert. Really quite poor as mine just had a drizzle of caramel sauce squirted across it whilst Mrs EPR had three scoops of ice cream placed atop hers; one of which was allegedly a Grand Marnier flavour. On the upside, quite an interesting wine list including a good selection of half-bottles. No complaints about that. Our host during the evening was a ringer for Bill Murray and just as deadpan. Incidentally, the interior of this place was equally as comfortable as the outside; good tip when the weather is sub-optimal.

Perfect place for lunch between wine tastings. Friendly service with a great plat du jour. good value for money. Highly recommended
