Les P'tites Cotes sur Villeneuve-D'Ascq

We received a very warm welcome upon arrival at 1 p.m. with a reservation. We enjoyed an aperitif, a country-style platter (ham, salad, chorizo, and baked Camembert) 👍 We also had a full Welsh rarebit, a salmon Welsh rarebit, a mixed grill (chicken, lamb chop, flank steak, and grilled bacon), and lamb shank 👍😋 And a gourmet coffee 👍 This is a very good restaurant. For the same price per person, we've been to restaurants that were nowhere near this level.

Good value for money! A great place to spend a pleasant time with colleagues.

Romantic dinner tonight and discovery of a fantastic, friendly restaurant. The welcome and service were excellent, with everyone smiling! Very good value for money, generous portions from appetizers to main courses! A real delight, everything is homemade! And made with local products! The homemade chocolate mousse was DELICIOUS! Beautiful rib-eye steaks cooked to perfection, friendly and quick service... nothing to complain about.

I tried it recently... and I have to say, I was disappointed. I arrived to a traditional, slightly old-fashioned pub atmosphere, warm ambiance, pleasant and quick service... in short, it promised to be great. Well, things started to go downhill a bit with my first bite: the croquette (yes, singular) was €8.50... for a roadside restaurant in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, that's ridiculous (the bill is easier to swallow when it comes to €5 on the set menu, but still). Otherwise, it was okay, but not exceptional. As for the meat, I tried a bit of everything and overall: - bone marrow that was undercooked (cold marrow, not great) - chicken too salty - bacon was alright - and a disappointment with the ribs, supposedly the house specialty. One was good and the other was incredibly dry (like it was leftovers from the day before that they recooked). On the other hand, the dish was generous and well-presented, no complaints there. The baked potatoes served with it were good. It was still lacking a sauce, though! Well, in the end, I wasn't blown away... it wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either... so disappointed! What a shame!

Today we had lunch at this establishment. Very warm welcome. The waitresses were friendly and energetic. The dishes served were generous, the ingredients high-quality, not to mention the excellent fries. Thank you to the chef for a wonderful time spent enjoying local dishes. A wonderful discovery. I highly recommend this place.

Top-notch service and welcome. The same goes for the phone reception. Simple, well-cooked, and efficient dishes. Excellent value for money compared to chains with thatched roofs or chains with hippo names. 😆 We'll be back with pleasure.
