Les Quatre Vents sur Brest

Ideal for drinks, lunch, and evening get-togethers with friends. Always a great atmosphere, the food is good, and the prices are reasonable. Reservations recommended.

Le Quatre Vents – Brest 23rd October 2025 We arrived in Brest as our first stop ahead of a tour of the west of France and a return to the UK across the Bay of Biscay. We happened upon this brasserie partly by accident, having walked around the upper part of the town and realising that much of the more interesting eateries were down by the port area. What a find. We had fish soup to start and I then chose the Moules, my partner opting for a delicious meat dish. We stayed longer than planned due to a very heavy rain shower (pre-empting a heavy storm which impacted on our travel plans the next day) but we had a lovely afternoon in this authentic local restaurant (and more wine than originally envisaged!) Many locals clearly return to eat here and I understand why. The food, the service and the overall ambience were all a delight. Great value, too. If I return to Brest, I would love to come back to Le Quatre Vents. The name of the place proved rather prescient, given travel disruption the following morning.

Discovering the bistro: the meal was very good, the fish was tender and homemade, you could taste the difference. The dessert (far) was very generous. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor is typical of a bistro, which is nice. The staff was also excellent. It gets crowded quickly, but it's also very noisy and difficult to move around.

The atmosphere is great. The food is seasonal, and they offer draft beer, wine, cocktails, and most importantly, plenty of eye candy. If you're Thai and visiting this area, don't forget to stop by. It gets a bit crowded on weekends, but there are usually tables available.

A very good experience with Alizée, who knows how to keep customers coming back. A bistro worth frequenting!

We received a wonderful welcome from Alizé, who took care of everything for us. She was incredibly knowledgeable, very friendly, and always smiling. The same goes for the food. Beautiful presentation, generous portions. Everything was perfect!

Best spot to experience Brest's atmosphere on a terrace. Simple and effective cuisine offering excellent value for money, and a top-notch kig ha farz.
