Les Touristes sur Abondance

We stayed here doing a section of the TMB in August 2024, as we could not find accommodation in a town closer to the trail. I reckon we lucked out finding Les Touristes - they showed us perfect mountain hospitality. Firstly, they offered to pick us up from the trail end for a much lower price than the eye-watering taxi quote. They also dropped us back to the trail the next day. The hotel is the cutest thing - a full 70s look, very retro - the rooms are simple, impeccably clean and have a jug w tea and coffee makings. Despite being on the frontiere w train and expressway outside, it was quiet. I slept like a baby - but like one of those rare babies that actually sleeps thru the night. The highlight for me was the restaurant - the rosti they served us for dinner was the best I've ever eaten, and perfect fare after a long day of walking. Nice campari and soda, very nice wine. And a great breakfast the next morning. It's a family run hotel - and they really do care about their guests. I wish more hotels were like this.
