We discovered this restaurant by chance on a Friday evening. The restaurant doesn't have a large dining room, but the atmosphere is very nice. I had a classic Angus steak, which was excellent, and my companion had a chicken supreme, which was also excellent. Our server was very pleasant as well. We had a very good evening!

I've been to L'Escalier restaurant in Metz several times and have always had a great meal. The portions are generous and high-quality; you're never disappointed. The atmosphere is friendly, and the terrace is really lovely in the summer 🌞 — it's definitely a major plus for the restaurant. The service is decent, although it can sometimes vary depending on how busy it is. All in all, it's a good place that I recommend.

Everything was perfect: the portions, the melt-in-your-mouth meat, the sauce, the unlimited homemade fries, and the delicious homemade desserts. There were three of us, and we'll gladly return. The waitress took excellent care of us from beginning to end. A truly excellent place!

Very, very nice... Saturday lunchtime. A little bistro just the way we like them. It's lively and very pleasant. We loved it. A simple menu, fresh ingredients... nice little wines by the glass. A must-try, and we'll definitely be back.

Once inside, you understand the restaurant's name. The welcome was excellent, as was the service. We had an Angus steak and a salmon, both cooked perfectly, and the homemade fries were fantastic. The only issue was that the dishes were served lukewarm, barely warm; we hesitated to ask for them to be reheated. The same was true inside the restaurant; it wasn't very hot, but it's true that we were sitting behind the entrance door, and despite a thick curtain, nothing was too hot.

A warm welcome and a super friendly team! Especially Alicia and her measurements 😉 she'll understand! The specialty: thinly sliced ​​Angus beef with Café de Paris sauce, absolutely divine!!! Can't wait to try the other versions on my next visit! A place to remember and not miss!

27/03/2026: The dining room is magnificent. The menu is very appealing. But in the end, the food was bland. The saffron risotto had no real flavor, and the confit garlic sauce tasted like a typical meat sauce. I feel there's a disconnect between the menu descriptions and what you actually get. They offer gravlax salmon, which is supposed to be raw, but we received cooked salmon. The chocolate pistachio tartlet, Dubai-style, was too simple. The chocolate was good, but the pistachio tasted like a sugary dessert. In short, I was rather disappointed, especially considering it's a place that's often been recommended to me.
15/03/2026: The setting is truly beautiful, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the servers were friendly. We came on a Saturday evening, but unfortunately, there were several minor hiccups during the ordering process. We waited an extremely long time (45 minutes) for our champagne flutes, which arrived at the same time as the appetizers and wines, so we received everything at once. Furthermore, there was a mistake with one dish, and one person had to wait an additional 15 minutes. That said, the food was good, but the meat wasn't exceptional according to my guests. Considering the price, we wouldn't necessarily recommend it.
