L'Escapade Gourmande sur Riberac

Serendipity brought us here, that and the fact that it was seemimgly the only place open in Ribérac on our last night. The steak was superb, and the ravioli received rave reviews from the other half. Service was polite, friendly and efficient, with the owner gentleman particularly amicable. Shame that we found this place as late as we did.

This is my third visit, whether with my in-laws, family, or my partner, and I've never been disappointed. The dishes are always spotless and beautifully presented, the desserts are incredible. I'm moving soon, and this will definitely be a place I return to. One small negative point: the waiter's wife is a bit older; I find her a little cold. Luckily, her children and husband are incredibly kind, and the food is delicious.

I went to a restaurant that was partnered with a local hotel. As a result, I had a slightly smaller, special menu, but the regular menu seemed quite varied. For my starter, the goat cheese and honey samosas were pretty good, served with a rather generous side salad for a starter. For my main course, I had lasagna, also with a small salad. The lasagna was very good, but unfortunately, it was cold inside... a shame. For dessert, I had cheese. Overall, it's a restaurant with good value for money.

Excellent restaurant, I highly recommend it if you're in Ribérac. Special mention for Carole's desserts, especially her excellent "nougat glacé".
