L'Estaminet Flamand sur Dunkerque

A small, unique restaurant with exceptional cuisine; the chicken with Maroilles cheese was a real treat. We opted for the set menu at €33.50, which included an aperitif, a drink, and coffee. For the price, it was unbeatable.

An unusual place. With good food and a very kind owner and his colleague. Having ordered the starter, main course, and dessert, we left feeling completely satisfied. If you're looking to immerse yourself in Flemish culture, this is the place! Don't hesitate to go.

Fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The welcome was genuine and very friendly, and the food was delicious. If you still have room, try the rum baba; served warm with cherries, it's absolutely divine. The decor was lovely.

Arriving a little late, at 8:45 pm, we were warmly welcomed by the owner! We opted for a set menu; unfortunately, the tartiflette with Maroilles cheese had sold out before we arrived (despite the explanation, this meant losing a star for the restaurant). So, we had two gizzard salads for starters, followed by a Flemish carbonnade and chicken with Maroilles cheese for the main course, and for dessert—not exactly local, to my knowledge, but always a winner—a Colonel (a type of dessert). We enjoyed an aperitif of Duvel beer and dried sausage. Our meal was accompanied by a Clos Val Seille Côtes du Rhône (€24), which I highly recommend for a truly enjoyable experience. The decor lives up to expectations; it exudes authenticity, just as the cuisine evokes the dishes of our grandmothers. The boss, not being at odds with happiness, offered us a digestif (a small glass of infused rum).

What can I say... it was excellent. The atmosphere was simple and welcoming. The food was 10/10. I loved it, I highly recommend it. Thank you for this wonderful time.

Disappointing carbonnade, too greasy, a shame for my first time in a traditional pub. Service was adequate. Pleasant atmosphere.

The fries are better than my mother's, which is saying something. In my opinion, it's the best restaurant in Dunkirk. I give it 5 stars for everything: the welcome, the taste, the quality of the dishes, the leg of lamb, the owner, the waitress, the decor, the warmth, and the attentiveness, especially considering how late we arrived.

A wonderful discovery thanks to one of their suppliers, who is prominently featured in the establishment. We had a very good meal, with a special mention for the rum baba. Congratulations to the owners who have been there for over 30 years. They are very helpful and always have a kind word for their customers.
