Really delicious, local food. So good that we ate there two days in a row for lunch! The first day the food was simple and we sat inside. The second day we had amazingly tender lamb and sat outside in the sun. Highly recommended for lunch.

A truly wonderful discovery at L’Impromptu in the Covered Market of Nancy! We were lucky enough to enjoy this experience thanks to a prize we won in the “I Love Nancy” contest by Destination Nancy, and what a treat it was! Authentic cuisine made with fresh ingredients, where you can taste the quality of the ingredients and the culinary expertise. Dishes bursting with flavor, a real delight from start to finish. All this in a warm and friendly atmosphere that makes you want to fully savor the moment. Thank you for this wonderful culinary interlude and this lovely discovery. A place we are happy to recommend!

Delicious! At the central market, there are many places to eat. And yet, Impromptu is the most well-known and popular! It's a very good restaurant, serving fairly classic French brasserie cuisine with the main advantage of using fresh ingredients! The prices are quite reasonable, and the market atmosphere is unique.

22/04/2026: I've had the pleasure of eating at La Puce à l'Oreille in Nancy several times, and it's definitely a place I recommend if you love cheese and generous portions. The restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere; you quickly feel at ease. It's not pretentious at all; on the contrary, it's warm, lively, and perfect for spending quality time with friends or family. The decor is original and gives the place a lot of character, making the experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, it's a real treat. The dishes are hearty, beautifully presented, and above all, incredibly delicious. Everything is designed for cheese lovers: fondues, gratins, generously topped potatoes… you can really taste the generosity in every bite. It's the kind of meal that's a delight from start to finish. The service is also excellent. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and attentive. You feel well taken care of, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant really contributes to a pleasant experience. 15/03/2026: Excellent food but very slow service. It took 45 minutes just to take our drink order. I still recommend it, though.
15/03/2026: Second brunch at Frères Marchand. We came in April 2025 and had a 5-star experience. This time, we were disappointed with the brunch on March 15, 2026, for several reasons: - The portions were generally much smaller compared to last year. - The savory options were no longer as varied or frequently offered. - €8.50 for a one-liter bottle of sparkling water... That's quite expensive. - Only three sweet options (a quarter of a very dry waffle, a caramel pancake, and a slice of blueberry tart that was only 1.5 cm wide). - The price had increased to €36.90 (compared to €31 in 2025). Fortunately, the cheeses and charcuterie were still of very high quality, and coffee/tea and orange juice were still unlimited. It was still a lovely experience, but the price and the reduced selection make us hesitate to return.
