L'Islandais Restaurant sur Paimpol

Came to town for a good lunch. Since we were looking for a seafood platter we chose this restaurant. Made a reservation to ensure a table. A good thing, since the restaurant was completely packed. Even so, the staff was very friendly and attentive and took good care of us. And our Bulldog was welcome here as well. To avoid the crowds, we booked a table inside. Very nice, classy, english-pub setting. Cozy. I've had the housemade terrine for starters and after that the Steak Tartare for the main. My wife shared the big seafood platter with me. The Terrine was really nice, good flavours and spices. Nice grilled bread with. The Tartare was nicely done (you can order it prepared or mix your own) and with a really nice load of meat. Great fries with. The seafood platter was nicely presented. Oysters, sea snails, shrimp, half a crab and langoustines. All fresh and of really good quality. A very enjoyable platter and we were really happy about it. The whole meal would get five stars, if later on on our trip through France we wouldn't have found some even better seafood platters. But we did...This one here was great. But in the next few days we even found some excellent ones. Still: It's a great place to enjoy a really good meal. And prices are fair for the quality.

Friendly welcome. Delicious galettes and especially the Saint Jacques snackées. Tasty desserts. Nice cozy restaurant. If we are ever in Paimpol again, we will definitely go back.

We had a great time at the Icelandic. Warm and welcoming staff, the dishes were very good and the prices were very reasonable. We recommend and will come back without hesitation!

Pleasant restaurant located on the port of Paimpol opposite the small riding school. The food is very good and the staff are friendly. The service is continuous, but the establishment offers a reduced menu from 2 p.m. until evening service.

I don't know whether I can make a recommendation here or not. We enjoyed the food. The price is taken into account for the location (we experienced better value for money in the last few weeks of our trip to France). But the little things... we waited a good 15 minutes until we received the card - guests who came with us and shortly after us were served faster. Was it because we asked about English or German language skills??? Our wine was served, but unfortunately the water was not. The starter wasn't brought as ordered, that happened - but then discussing it with the guest as a service is, in my opinion, not okay. Afterwards we received food for our neighboring tables twice, which we could well refuse and the young gentleman from the service was also humorous, so that we didn't have a bad feeling - at most, acceptance before the really busy job that evening. A wine cooler for white wine would have been great. The following tips from us - 3 weeks after the Olympics, more than just the French language should at least be understood in this wonderful, cosmopolitan country - a wine cellar for cool wines
