L'Ivress Bourse, France sur Paris

There is something immediately reassuring about spotting regulars. It instils an innate sense of trust and confidence in the meal you’re about to have, especially if you’re sitting down at this restaurant, like I did, for the first time. La bourse et la vie is the classical example of bistro menu done extremely well, without unnecessary fuss and experimentation, with top notch ingredients. The wine list is well paired, not to impressed but to fulfil its mission, together with the menu, as purveyors of a highly enjoyable, well paced lunch altogether delivered by a very friendly team. The foie gras hit the proverbial spot to start with, and the delicious bavette was sealed the deal. The chocolate mousse in the end could only be succulent, which it was. A great weekday lunch spot for a creature of habit such as myself.

a little expensive for what it is, the food is good, the service friendly, fresh products pepper steaka little disappointing When will we see the good sauce we knew in the past with crushed pepper and good cream?

Small, intimate and warm. Perfect on all counts, from the food to the wine selection and recommendations to the service and ambiance. Will definitely return when in Paris again.

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We arrived early for our reservation due to poor weather and it wasn't an issue, we were taken in and seated early which was such a relief. The staff were knowledgable, relaxed and comfortable. The owner was in and he kindly, and patiently, explained the menu to us, giving us his advice and recommendations. All the food was exceptional (mixed small plates to start which were incredible), beautifully cooked steak frites and to finish olive oil sorbet which, although sounds insane was genius and delicious; the wines were smooth, and the service was perfect. We were there as a special occasion for my daughter's birthday and it did not disappoint. We loved every minute of this experience, and I loved that the owner was so present and engaged with all his customers in a very low-key but comfortable way. Everything this restaurant did it did well and with simple ease. Made our trip to Paris wonderful. Do yourself a favour and book a table. You won't regret it.

Incredibly special "find" in Paris; food, service and atmosphere were exquisite. I will be dreaming about their steak frites forever more!
