The food is certainly okay, but it takes an enormous amount of time to be served. 3 hours for a suggested 3-course menu is really excessive.

We came for lunch today with our two daughters and it was perfect... The food was absolutely delicious... The staff were lovely; we ordered one dish for both of our daughters and they were able to separate everything ;) Absolutely fantastic... I highly recommend it...

They charge for the carafe of water because it's supposedly distilled, which is illegal because they don't tell you when you order. It makes tap water expensive.

A restaurant worthy of its reputation. The €32 set menu (starter, main course, dessert) was perfect. The service was very pleasant. We recommend this restaurant.

On a wine tasting tour in Chinon, had lunch off and ended up here. No regrets, because this was very good. Relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic service. Delicious food and drinks. We shared the starter, white asparagus - gorgeous. For the main course my beautiful wife chose cod, while I chose turbot. Both dishes were fantastic. Together with a local white wine, Chenin blanc, it was perfect. We finished with cheese (the beautiful wife 😍) and le souffle au grand mariner (me). Highly recommend a visit!

18/08/2026: There were four of us without a reservation for dinner on August 17th. The waiters were able to find us a table on the terrace. There was a bit of a wait, but at least we weren't forced to finish our aperitifs during the meal, as is the case in other establishments that serve too quickly. The food is excellent, hence the 5 stars...
17/08/2026: Having booked just 20 minutes beforehand, I came to eat with a friend. We ordered a rare flank steak and another one (very) well-done. Both arrived at the same time, cooked exactly as we wanted, which is rare and much appreciated. The service was excellent, despite the negative reviews that almost discouraged us.

Le cafe de la paix

22/08/2026: Passing through Chinon, we stopped there with two children. The children's menu is truly excellent and generous. They thoroughly enjoyed the fresh, well-prepared food (homemade nuggets). The meat was just as good for children as it was for adults. The burger was very good, and the chocolate mousse and tiramisu were excellent. Don't hesitate to stop by.
17/08/2026: Fabulous! Top-notch service. Generous, flavorful, and delicious cuisine. A set menu for €22 👌 Crepes made fresh to order at the counter. The must-visit spot in Chinon.
