The Croque Monsieur was not great, it looked pale and undercooked but was hard and dry, with little filling. The chips were greasy and unpleasant. The salad was fine and the service was friendly. There were lots of dogs, including ours, which was nice.

A pint of Affligem red wine in a lively, village-style bar/restaurant/PMU. The service is friendly, and the setting is perfect in the town center.

Good restaurant with a welcoming staff, though they seemed a bit stressed taking orders in the dining room. The fries are homemade and absolutely excellent. The flank steak was slightly undercooked to be rare, but you could still taste the grilled flavor. There's a good atmosphere in the dining room, and it's not too noisy. The restrooms could be cleaner. There's a rather strange smell coming from them.

Beautiful terrace on Place Gambetta, overlooking a very lively pedestrian street. Good selection of beers.

Impeccable welcome, the dishes are excellent and generously served. The prices are VERY AFFORDABLE. I sincerely recommend this bistro brasserie.

01/11/2025: Disappointment. The flambéed prawns were undercooked, the peppers were raw, and the dish was bland. The "gourmet coffee" at €9.50 was really lacking in quality. Frankly, it's a shame, you have the location to do great things. The service was adequate. The price is very high considering the quality.
31/10/2025: This restaurant doesn't deserve its bad reputation at all. Good food, friendly service (thank you, Anthony!), and a prime location... what more could you ask for to have a great time? Many thanks to the team at L'Écailler, we'll be back next year!
