L'Or Bleu Restaurant sur Theoule-Sur-Mer

A truly wonderful experience overlooking the waves. Classic French and Mediterranean cuisine, subtly modernized. The chef creates a menu by feel: a succession of dishes prepared according to his inspiration and the available ingredients, never straying from what makes a dish truly perfect! We appreciated his presence at our table and our good fortune to meet a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF)! All this was complemented by expertly paired wines from head sommelier Benoit Sessegolo and attentive service! THANK YOU

From the moment we arrived at the restaurant, to the time we left feeling slightly underwhelmed, the evening had the air of an out-of-breath runner struggling to reach the finish line. Nothing was particularly bad, yet almost everything felt slightly off. The six-course menu showed occasional flashes of creativity and good taste, with the egg and forest mushrooms being one truly exceptional dish, and thankfully served warm. The chef clearly has talent, and the staff made an effort, but there was a noticeable lack of energy and spirit throughout the evening. Service felt more like a routine being repeated than a genuine desire to create a memorable dining experience. Everything was technically there, yet somehow the whole experience lacked enthusiasm and dare I say, some finesse. At this price point, one expects more than a few interesting flavours and service that simply goes through the motions. Fine dining is as much about the overall experience as it is about the food, which most certainly should never be just "plopped" in front of the pateons, yet unfortunately, neither quite justified the bill. Not a bad evening by any means, but a surprisingly forgettable one for a restaurant with such ambitions.

The chef personally serves his signature dish in the dining room, which is a real bonus. In short, we highly recommend this establishment, which in our humble opinion deserves more than one star. An incredible experience with this eight-course menu! Each bite reveals all the work and thought the chef put into creating the dishes. A special mention for the signature egg! The sommelier provided invaluable advice on pairing the dishes.

The most amazing meal my husband and I have had yet! We did the six course plus wine pairing. If you’re staying at Tiara Miramar or in the area, it’s a must do!
