l'Orangeraie sur Saumur

Excellent restaurant with a breathtaking view of Saumur Castle. The food was impeccable and beautifully presented. The servers were very friendly. I highly recommend it.

The decor is very pretty, and the service is very pleasant and quick. The menu is well-balanced and appealing. A vegetarian dish was offered. The plates arrived beautifully presented and colorful, making them look inviting. However, the flavors were bland. The vegetarian dish was visually appealing (there were even little sprouts on top of the purée) and featured several vegetables. It had too many carrots for my taste (yellow, orange, and puréed). The vegetables, cut into nice diagonal slices, were cooked without much seasoning. Perhaps a touch of tangy sauce would have been nice?

Passing through Saumur, we booked a table for three people and a dog. It was a wonderful discovery. The staff were friendly, pleasant, and attentive. The dishes were exquisite and full of flavor; kudos to the chefs! The setting is magnificent, with a view of the castle. And thank you also for the care given to our dog. We will gladly return.
