The food was excellent and the service was top-notch. Unlike other restaurants that don't seem to understand gluten and celiac disease, this one does. We would definitely be back! The onion soup and the cassoulet, among other dishes, are highly recommended.

What a hidden gem this is! You would not notice it was there but for the menu on the main street. This is a beautiful cosy 13th/15th Century period venue. Served by very pleasant and capable staff.
Our steaks were cooked on an open fire in front of our very eyes whilst a very talented guitarist played wonderful music during our meal!
Please take the time to eat at this venue it was absolutely splendid and a meal we will not soon forget!

A wonderful time in this beautifully decorated restaurant.
We were welcomed by Anna, who had reserved a secluded table for us with an incredible view of the ramparts.

We stumbled upon this very unusual and well-hidden little restaurant!
But what a delight! You can tell that everything you eat is prepared with care. The interior decor is simply incredible and truly immerses you in a medieval atmosphere.
We were even treated to a short concert by a singer and his guitar ☺️.
Furthermore, while chatting with the owner, we learned that this restaurant is one of the oldest in the city of Carcassonne. So don't expect fancy design or anything superficial, but rather something authentic and local. We highly recommend it!

Great restaurant. Our steak was cooked live in the fireplace. Had a wonderful meal, the steak was perfectly cooked and the Roquefort sauce… Heavenly!

We went to this very charming and peaceful restaurant. The food was high quality, the dishes were unique, and the service was excellent. The singer created a great atmosphere. I highly recommend it. We had the duck breast with rice and wood-fired potatoes with a delicious sauce. One of the best restaurants in the castle – go for it without hesitation!

It's worth doing at least once, if only for the setting. The waitress is very pleasant and efficient. She even cooks the meat in the fireplace, adding to the service and welcome. However, the food isn't up to par. I struggled to finish the sangria, which was too strong (Armagnac or fortified wine in it), and my goat salad was mediocre. My son's spaghetti was okay, but nothing special. My husband couldn't finish his rice; it had an off taste. We were hoping to return because we had a good experience there several years ago. This time, apart from the service and the setting, that won't be the case.

The restaurant entrance is dark and gloomy.
The medieval feel is a distant memory; it's desperately needed a renovation and a complete overhaul of the outdated decor. And what about the sangria they offered? It was more like fruit puree than anything else. As they say, "If I'd known, I wouldn't have come." Truly disappointed.
