After visiting the historic district of Périgueux, we discovered the Saint Louis restaurant. We had no reservation, but there was a short wait. Our lunch was perfect: delicious foie gras and flavorful duck confit. An excellent choice.

The best restaurant in Périgueux, even though it's a shame they don't serve affogato for Italians 😜 We love going there for the atmosphere, the staff, and the food, but not for the affogato lol

19/05/2026: Wow what a find. Being early diners in France is not an easy thing but we wandered into this beautiful little restaurant. We honed in on the 3 course menu for 29€ and made our choices. Service was exemplary and we thoroughly enjoyed each dish. I had a petit salad with chicken intestines which I have to say was one of the most delicious dishes I've tasted for awhile. The fillet of fish with a beautiful vegetable sauce was also just as delicious. I finished off with the traditional dessert and was completely satisfied by the end. I would highly recommend this restaurant for its food, service and atmosphere.
