L'Oustau Camarguais sur Aigues-Mortes

Evening menu at 29€ very reasonable: tellines as a starter, bull gardiane and Catalan cream for dessert for my choice. All very well cooked, very sufficient quantity. Nice warm setting, fast service. A good address, lots of tourists, few restaurants open during the week in this season.

Walking around Aigues Mortes hungry and wanting to avoid what the tourist square had to offer, also hoping to find a place with tables outside and enough space having an XL-sized dog with us, we came across this restaurant which attracted us for its space outside and for the menu displayed outside where some vegetarian and vegan proposals were highlighted. We had understood that it would not be a cheap lunch but in the end we can say with absolute certainty that we spent €89 more than well. The menu offers à la carte dishes and two complete menu options (starter+main course+dessert), we chose the complete menu because in the end looking at the prices of a single dish it was convenient...everything we ate was excellent (the octopus with potatoes wonderful, similar to ours but this one with a very delicate sauce that tasted of mayonnaise and garlic), the waiters were kind and attentive, nice in trying to get along with our limited English and very limited French! We definitely recommend this restaurant!

Very warm welcome, yet a bit special. They have vegan and vegetarian options on the menu that are clearly indicated and surprised with a lot of flavor and creativity. You can even have a full vegan menu (aka formule) and everything is explained in English as well. The outside sitting is protected by a cute wooden construction with a lot of plants which also shields from the pedestrians and the sunshine, giving a cosy feeling. Definitely to try as non meat eater 🌿
