First off, I took one star off for the food and another for the wine list. After some not very memorable amuse bouche (the foie gras lollipop was salty), we were served langoustines deep fried with puffed rice -- Maybe because this is France, but coming from Asia, this reminded me more of a mid-range, mall seafood restaurant rather than high end French. A dollop of caviar never elevates the experience. And it was all down hill from this. The John Dory, scallops, and lamb were ordinary. The wine list? I visit Burgundy once a year and, until this year, always stay a night at Bernard Loiseau. What a mistake choosing Lameloise this year. The wine prices were fairly expensive and older vintages were limited. I didn't travel all the way to Changny to pay Paris or New York wine prices. The reason for eating at Michelin restaurants in Burgundy is for accessibility to some of the best wines in the world. Rooms are fairly basic for the price as well. Next year, I'll go back to my routine with Bernard Loiseau.

I have to admit that for my first time in a 3-star restaurant, I'm a little disappointed.
Everything is really pleasant: the food, the staff—it's even a bit over the top.
But in the end, I didn't get that "wow" effect.

This is the place I go to for a culinary knockout. I've lost count of how many times I've been, but it's a story where I've seen the cuisine evolve from the very classic era of Jacques Lameloise with his incredible sauces to the current, more modern touch with Éric Pras.
I don't know what to say except that it's extremely good and the presentation is exceptional (see photos).
I was lucky enough to be invited by my partner, and I confess I no longer have any qualms about refusing 😅
