Mamma Giovanna sur Colmar

A good Italian restaurant in Colmar, generous and delicious portions, great price and excellent service. The waiter asked where we were from and I thought twice before saying from Israel, but he smiled and said hello in Hebrew and was very nice, which is quite a feat for Israelis abroad today.

Perfect place for a homemade gnocchi and pasta or an excellent pizza. Pizza with steak or veal with garlic sauce is just heaven on a plate. Prices are pretty reasonable for Dutch standards at least. They serve a very very veeeeeeery nice Alsace Pinot noir. The service is amazing and the place is wonderfully dog friendly. Ambiance is average inside but outside there is a nice view on Colmar!

Good pizza and very friendly staff

I came from Belgium...we met an original, friendly waiter...a joyful moment...and the simple, well-prepared food...

An Italian restaurant located in Colmar. The service was really good and nice. Our waiter was really nice and even spoke a little Hebrew. The food arrived relatively quickly and was really delicious. We ordered three children's pizzas, a Margherita pizza and pesto pasta with a burrata ball. A really recommended and delicious place.

Perfect welcome. Excellent cuisine.

We received very friendly service. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.

Third stay in Colmar and third meal at this restaurant. Never disappointed, quality cuisine and a very warm welcome.

Great place, excellent service and good pizza!!

Just scrapes 3 stars, because the food was alright when it (eventually) came. Wanted a change from Alsation food so chose this Italian. Quite empty, which perhaps tells a story. They didn't seem to really want us there! And it took forever for someone to come and take our order (someone who we're still not sure what language they spoke), and even longer for any food to actually arrive. The food was fine when it eventually did come. Fairly standard pasta and pizza, but I expect there are much better (and friendlier) Italian offerings in Colmar. This is one of several short reviews of restaurants we (family of 4) tried in Colmar in July 2026. They are La Galeria, Winstub Factory, Le Petit Schlossberg, Mamma Giovanna, Caveau Saint Pierre and Café Jupiler.
