02/08/2024: We booked for our Thursday night meal but probably didn’t need to - we had a choice of inside or outside- opted for a table at the rear to avoid those smoking outside. We loved the interior it’s a Beer enthusiasts dream - loads of memorabilia and an impressive beer selection- all of it is on - if you like Belgian beers you will love it - I tried the local brews - excellent too, also good wine choices. As for food you can see the menu- great selection of burgers - I went for andouillette - very well cooked! All in all a great choice - def worth a detour if you are nearby!

03/07/2024: Having been wandering around the streets of this spectacular old town we were in need of somewhere to eat and drink out of the strong sun; 'Le Trappist' was that place. Right from the start , as soon as we sat down and looked at all the signs and advertisements on the walls, we knew that we were in a place heavily influenced by its Belgian leanings. After a jug of cold water and a couple of Jupiter beers we studied the extensive table mat menus and made our choices - my wife went for the 'Escalope de poulet a la crème' and I chose the, as it turned out , appropriately named 'Burger gourmand'. Having eventually made our way through the suitably generous portions, we finished the meal with a couple of 'Café petit' black coffees. Altogether a very satisfactory lunch experience, topped of with a complimentary cold shot of pear and cognac liqueur straight from the freezer - excellent.
