The waiting time was a bit long, but it was definitely worth it. The place is absolutely beautiful, and the hot chocolate and waffles were delicious. The staff were attentive and professional. Prices were on the pricey side, but we already knew that

Iconic for a reason. Warm, buttery waffles with the perfect vanilla filling, in a beautiful historic space. Worth the stop.

Really good ice cream. They were selling it from a stall in front of the store, and there was a long queue, but it was definitely worth the wait. Highly recommended.

A beautiful and historic shop in the centre of Lille with friendly staff who create a traditional and unique experience. The pastries are perfect and the staff are knowledgeable about all their products—from fine teas to chocolates and fresh pastries.

Awesome location, very into the French vibe. We had breakfast there sitting inside and we ordered menu pasteries to try all of them and their famous waffle. The waffle and the Saint Honorè they were very nice. The other pasture nice looking but nothing special. I was expecting something more, from an historical place like this. having tried other places. Still nice experience if you are in Lille, I would recommend it!

What a unique beautiful place. Attention to detail in the decoration was superb and now let's talk about the cake an absolute taste sensation. My partner and I made different choices and then shared absolutely delicious and looked as good as they tasted

The ambiance is wonderful, with both a shop and a large garden at the back. We tried their beautifully presented desserts, and I’d recommend it if you enjoy this style.

How can this be anything but 5*? The pastries, the service, the setting, the shop, the history, everything is impeccable and the price point is reasonable. I think Meert may be a victim of its own reputation, as it is busy and people clearly expect perfection, but in our experience it lived up to it, and of all our culinary experiences in Lille this will be the one I remember forever.

17/11/2025: As a Lyon native visiting Lille, my discovery couldn't have been more delightful. A warm welcome, a friendly and unpretentious atmosphere—I had a wonderful time with the other customers and the manager. All this, of course, while enjoying a good glass of wine without restraint, as the ideal location allows easy access on foot to all the city's attractions. Thank you for this evening spent in your company. Laughter and sparkle ;-).
08/11/2025: Excellent coffee, just like before! The restaurant is perfect for lunch. There's always a daily special, with unbeatable value for money. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service efficient, making it an ideal spot for a quick and tasty lunch break.

08/04/2025: Great discovery, it's been a long time since I last ate such good meat with top-notch and smiling waitresses, too bad the place will close its doors
30/01/2025: The old Lille institution pubstore is a real journey through time, as much for its decor as for the music or the play on words that name the dishes (I love it)!!! The cuisine is tasty, based on fresh, quality products, we had a great time 😋. The only downside was that the waitress was particularly unpleasant and apparently annoyed at serving our group on this weekday evening when the restaurant was almost empty… She gets the bill wrong and angrily asks us: we're going to have to pay the difference!! It’s completely normal, but there are ways to say it, especially when the mistake is on your part… I still recommend the establishment, but the service is part of the service, pay attention 😉
