Méert could genuinely be my favourite dessert place in the world. I still can’t forget the taste of their famous waffles, delicate and lightly crisp on the outside, yet soft and buttery in the centre, with a rich vanilla filling that melts beautifully with every bite. They somehow feel both elegant and comforting at the same time.
I loved them so much that I even ordered delivery while living in London. That alone probably says everything.

Meert was once a renowned establishment in Lille. Sadly, that's no longer the case. Whether it's their pastries or even their chocolates, their products are still high-quality, but often overpriced. And what about the service and the friendly atmosphere, which have declined significantly over the years, whether in the shop, the tea room, or the restaurant? So I've decided to stop going there altogether. Other shops in Lille offer a much better experience and a far more welcoming atmosphere.

We had classic meert waffels one with vanilla and the other was pistachio and both of them were incredibly delicious. Especially the vanilla one.. We wished we have enough time to sit in the backyard and enjoy our time but we didn’t have. Anyways, they have a very high quality products and not exaggerated prices. Nice experience.

I had a very pleasant time in this truly beautiful tea room, with its elegant and soothing atmosphere.
It's the perfect place for a family outing: we received a very warm welcome and immediately felt at ease.
The cakes were excellent, and the hot chocolate was also very good.
The only slight drawback is that you sometimes need to make an appointment and there can be a wait. In our case, we had to wait about an hour, which gave us the opportunity to explore Lille a bit while waiting to enjoy our afternoon tea together!
But this is understandable, as it's quite popular, which clearly shows that the place is well-liked.
I give it 5 stars without hesitation.

Sublime pastries! A bit haughty though, as if they are veeeery special, even though you can get delicious pastries elsewhere and enjoy a nicer setting. The tea room is a shadow of its former glory.

A little gift from my son who worked in Lille... These waffles are a real treat... a delicious indulgence... I savored the pleasure. Just one a day... With a coffee... for an afternoon snack... to make it last.

I absolutely loved this tea room!
The place is simply magical, with a warm and elegant atmosphere that invites you to relax. The pastries are excellent, as beautiful as they are delicious, and you can feel the attention to detail.
The service is also top-notch: welcoming, attentive, and professional, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
A must-visit for a truly delightful experience. Don't forget to book ahead, or you might not get a table.

Beautiful place worth to visit and look around.
But the pastries are too heavy and the waffle is not special at all. Very disappointing definitely for that price.
