Beautiful hotel in the heart of the pretty village of Saint Nectaire. Very nice spa. I recommend it.

A hotel dating back to the 1900s with superb rooms (restaurant) but somewhat dated staircases.
The spa treatments are excellent, the hotel is quiet, the bedding is spotless, as is the overall cleanliness. The sauna and pool are really nice.
The staff is fantastic, especially the head waiter in the restaurant. A wonderful stay.

A renovated building dating from 1900, but with some old-fashioned features that add to its charm. Excellent spa treatments, very good meals and breakfasts. A booking issue, despite two emails, was quickly resolved.

The rooms are quite basic. I changed rooms three times, not due to the staff's fault, but because of the poor maintenance (a broken hairdryer, etc.). The pool, despite being told that 27-28 degrees Celsius is sufficient, doesn't feel that way. IT'S TOO COLD! We were told the air is warm, which is why the pool feels cold. However, I'm used to taking cold showers before getting into pools precisely to experience the opposite sensation, that the pool is warm. I couldn't stay in for more than 20 minutes; I just couldn't get used to the water temperature. I understand that the chef is currently on sick leave, but the restaurant (which isn't Michelin-starred, it's not mandatory) isn't the best in the area. In short, the staff (especially Nordine, the very polite young man at reception, and the lady with short black hair who works breakfast) save the day. The hotel itself isn't unbearable, but it's not up to Mercure standards. From experience, this kind of stay would cost around €85 a night in the off-season, like my experience, but here it's around €110 a night.
Oh, and even though they tell you the room temperature is automatically regulated, it's COLD! Seriously, it's crazy; I had to go get a blanket from the closet, and I'm not exactly sensitive to cold. Bathrobes have to be requested at reception, which I find unusual.
Overall, I don't regret it, but it was slightly disappointing compared to what you expect from a Mercure.

Spacious and comfortable room. The spa and sauna are great.
The restaurant's dishes are exceptional, and the service is excellent.
We recommend this hotel for a relaxing short break.

We were offered a welcome cocktail which was brought to our table. They told us they didn't have time to manage the bar area. We waited half an hour to be served an aperitif, then at our table. Was it a staff shortage? An organizational problem?
However, the meal was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful. The rooms and hallways, on the other hand, are outdated. The radiator in our room was whistling and couldn't be adjusted. The hotel is well located and the staff is pleasant.

Excellent staff. Attentive and available, they arranged a last-minute change for us, giving us a balcony and a travel cot that we had forgotten to request beforehand.
Thank you Nordine for the excellent and efficient evening service in the restaurant.
