Nivon sur Valence

Excellent products. I came two weeks ago to buy a pogne (a type of brioche), a suisse (a type of Swiss roll), and a praline cake. The best part was the Valrhona chocolate croissant.

Fantastic bakery and pastry shop, with a wide selection of pastries that are a little out of the ordinary. Always a treat for breakfast and afternoon tea!

We stumbled upon it by chance when we saw it open on a Sunday, and it was a great find. The croissants and pain au chocolat were delicious, freshly made, and had a spectacular flavor.

I've known the Nivon brand my whole life, being from Valence. The pognes (a type of brioche) are always good, but I don't understand why, at the store on Rue Pierre Semard, which is the original location, the servers don't seem to grasp that the freshness bag goes inside and the paper on top! It used to be done correctly. Furthermore, there's no price listed for the lunch special, and when I ask the waitress, she tells me it depends on what I order. It's all very unclear, and I ended up paying an exorbitant price for a small, meager salad and a very dry éclair! Very disappointed. Finally, some of the waitresses need to learn to be a bit more welcoming, because looking like they're going to die is extremely unpleasant for us customers! And this isn't the first time I've experienced this with one of the waitresses!

I was greeted by a lovely gentleman. FLAN REVIEW: What a treat! The filling is delicate yet quite flavorful. The proportions are absolutely perfect, a beautiful balance, and it leaves you wanting more. AND that VANILLA... The pastry was slightly undercooked, but that was perfectly to my liking. A beautiful color on top, and a texture that's not too sticky and pleasant to the touch. 5/5

We went there specifically to buy the Swiss Man pastry; we also tried some cookies and cakes, and everything was delicious. The saleswoman who served us was a bit unpleasant when we asked her to give us four pieces of the Swiss Man pastry.

Fantastic experience, super friendly and attentive staff, beautiful (and above all, delicious!) products, excellent grocery store, and a really convenient location near Tesla Superchargers 👍🏻
