Impeccable and quick service. We enjoyed a lovely meal on a rather quiet terrace with a beautiful view! The only downside: It's a shame the Camembert sauce with the mussels was too runny and not creamy enough, in our opinion.

Had fish and chips and an amazing dessert with mango ice cream, kiwi and mango chunks. It was tart and sweet but not too much of either.

After visiting Caen, we explored the Vaugueux district, and despite numerous restaurants, we chose El Olivo, located very close to the castle ramparts. We weren't disappointed; everything was perfect: the welcome, the service, the atmosphere, the setting. The owner was very friendly. We had a wonderful evening.

24/05/2026: A very pleasant restaurant. We arrived at 10 pm as a group of four, the only customers at the time, and we received a very warm welcome! Impeccable service, generous portions, homemade fries, and good wines. I highly recommend it!
10/04/2026: Very welcoming, near the port. Good fondue and friendly staff. Good value for money.

12/06/2026: We found this place by accident while looking for a lunch place near the castle, and I am delighted that we did. The lunch specials were excellent and service was quick and friendly. It's a bit noisy at lunchtime because they were very busy (and obviously popular!) but that was the only detraction.
