O'GASCON sur Pau

Comme chaque année en vacances nous ne manquons jamais ce restaurant situé dans une rue très touristique. La cuisine est locale avec un très bon rapport qualité prix À faire

"O Gascon" is a restaurant that we highly recommend and which, in addition to its gastronomic offer, convinces with the total commitment of its service staff. Always friendly and attentive, they even lent us their own jackets when the temperatures dropped after dark. In addition to the very successful "Magret de Canard" accompanied by a red wine from the region, it is worth mentioning in particular the "Cassoulet avec son thigh de Canard" which, as a delicacy foreign to the region (in fact originating from Carcassonne ), is presented as the specialty of the house at the risk of triggering a diplomatic crisis. On the taste level, a multitude of senses are attuned and always pushed with distinction, so that this supraregional dish is conceived as the ambassador of distant homelands.

I came across a little gem of a restaurant. The cuisine is tender and refined, the waiter knows these products and their origin very well, which means that the advice on cooking, wine and how to taste it was perfect. I was with a friend from Canada and I didn't want a "tourist trap" restaurant, frankly I wasn't disappointed. I highly recommend

Ideally located in the Château de Pau district, this carefully decorated restaurant is a safe bet. A varied menu and formulas for reasonable prices. All the dishes ordered were tasty (especially the duck breast with black cherry). Small disappointment with the Basque cake for dessert, the service is friendly but a little inexperienced, overall I recommend.

Very nice restaurant, charming and responsive service. we hesitated before asking for a table because we were afraid of falling into a Nieme tourist trap.... in the end it was a nice surprise. We ate foie gras, certainly expensive, but very good. my husband and my son ate a delicious Henri IV chicken au pot, well garnished, copious. my daughter devoured her poultry supreme and I enjoyed the lamb sweetbreads. the dishes were good and generous.
