I gave this dinner to my cousin for her birthday. From the moment we arrived, the kind and warm welcome laid the foundations for a memorable evening. The place, with its few tables, offers an intimate atmosphere conducive to culinary discovery. Knowing little about the world of wine, the sommelier was able to guide me with finesse to choose a wine that perfectly suited my tastes. We then opted for a menu in five sequences, which turned out to be true culinary poetry. Each dish offered delicate flavors and perfectly harmonious combinations, and as promised, they accompanied our choice of wine ideally. Mr. François-Xavier was available and kind to answer all our questions, while Madame the sommelier showed great patience and kindness in the face of our lack of knowledge in oenology. We particularly appreciated the delicate attention paid to my cousin's birthday: a beautiful chocolate plaque with the inscription “Happy Birthday,” which she was able to take away as a souvenir of this exceptional evening. Thanks to this fine team, we had an exceptional time as a family. I recommend this unique experience without hesitation. The phrase that best illustrates this evening is: “A sweet amusement park for the taste buds. » For people wishing to stop by the bar before dinner, I strongly advise you to also make a reservation, as it is often crowded. #100 in my Paris Michelin Stars Challenge under a year. I wanted to save a special number for this one. Follow me and check my other reviews (every Michelin Star in Paris) Ps: Dear Google moderator, tell me what’s the issue here? Warning : this review has been written under the influence of the memories of extremely good champagne. Ok, I’m in love. Don’t worry, my wife knows about it, it’s purely professional. Really, how can you not fall under the spell of Marie Wodecki? She does steal the show, and is destined to be one of the sommelier to watch in the next few years. But to be fair, she’s in the right place to be in the center of the show. Why? Let’s start by the classical question : So what’s extraordinary here? Here, it’s your choice of wine that will dictate your meal. It’s an « accord Vins Mets ». In nearly every étoilé, you have an option called « Accord Mets Vins » where the sommelier will match each plate with a wine that helps you appreciate it. Here, it’s the other way round. You arrive, you say what you want to drink and the meal will suit your choice of wine… Needless to say it’s heaven of earth for any sommelier. Especially considering that you have access to the cellar of one of the most prestigious palace in France. I guess some must be jealous of Marie (certainly a bunch of colleagues!). By the way, Christophe K doesn’t have to be jealous of her because he’s the epitome of the perfect palace restaurant director. Perfect distance. Perfectly understood how to manage and modulate it with me. I just need to say to him I’m sorry I hadn’t time to write the review before, but I do have a big backlog since I’m averaging 4 stars a week. By the way that’s how good he is. He managed to create a connection so strong that 5 months later, I’m still feeling guilty! Let’s go back to the main point. It’s the wine that sets the tone. Now, let me take this opportunity to make another point, especially for those who follow me, but also for those who will “just” go to the Crillon for Dinner. What’s the best wine for a gastronomic meal? That’s a huge question and there are many debates. This question is of crucial importance here, since it set the course for the night. Well, without the shadow of a doubt, there’s absolutely no debate in my mind: Champagne. Not an average champagne of course, but more a “vin de Champagne”. I mean a Champagne, usually low or no dosage (low on added liquor, which is sugar basically), usually made by small passionate producer (or some exclusive cuvée from bigger name), often Blanc des noirs, sometimes from a specific parcel. Why champagne? Why this kind of champagne for a gastronomic meal? Because it’s completely decadent? No… Because you’ll both be able to appreciate the meal and the wine. It’s light. It’s subtle. The meal will not be overtaken by the taste of the wine. And you’ll go home fresh. So what happened there? Well, as usual I said I wanted to dine with Champagne. Sometimes it can be a challenge since some have only Champagne for “celebration “, not gastronomic. But not there… oh no. She, Marie, came with a menu that has the most complete collection I’ve ever seen since of one of my favorite champagne. I actually hunt down this specific brand in Michelin Star restaurant (you may have spot it on other reviews). As it wouldn’t be enough, the glass in which they will serve it are specifically made for the Crillon. You can see them on the pic. They have no “foot”. I ll save the anecdote for the staff but it does make the experience unique (and in that case, decadent indeed). Ok, I need to stop there. Because I’m reaching the word limit. And I’m not even at the meal yet! Which is not fair, because the chef is playing along the concept. It’s a palace cuisine but with an humble touch, no extravaganza, just refined. You’ll have premium ingredients of course (truffles for instance), but it’s not the main point, it’s simple, elegant and has a “maternal” touch (grandma with a star). And of course you have the Hidden in the Crillon factor… A top tiers one star.

Absolutely incredible experience from the moment you enter up to our departure, pure pleasure. The attention to detail both in service and in exquisite dishes is impeccable. We received an exceptional welcome and during the experience were provided stories and/or detailed explanations of our dishes. The menu included seasonal variations along with inspirational visions of classic French cuisine. The entire staff was professional, knowledgeable, and good natured. With the support of the Somm team we chose a bottle from their extensive wine list and the chef’s pairings were sublime. A sweet anniversary to us nod was quite touching. We highly recommend L’Ecrin and wish great success to the entire team.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the L'Ecrin restaurant at the Hôtel de Crillon and I must say that the experience was absolutely exceptional. As soon as I arrived, the welcome was warm and refined, a real preamble to what was to follow. The cuisine is simply divine, with each dish a true work of art both visually and taste-wise. The products are fresh, quality, and perfectly mastered. I particularly appreciated the creativity and balance of flavors on each plate. The service is impeccable: attentive, discreet and always attentive, which largely contributed to making the meal even more pleasant. The ambiance of the restaurant is elegant and intimate, providing an ideal atmosphere for a romantic dinner or special occasion. I highly recommend this restaurant to all lovers of high gastronomy and exceptional moments. A culinary experience that lives up to the reputation of the Hôtel de Crillon! Thank you to the whole team for this memorable evening, I can't wait to come back

We had a great evening. Everything was perfect. The welcome was very warm, the service friendly and just perfect. The food was excellent and the bottomless wine list delighted my husband. The setting is aptly named, because it is a very small, very pleasant restaurant.

For a birthday with my wife, we spent a memorable evening, both for the quality of the welcome by all the staff in the Ecrin dining room, and for the exceptional quality of the dishes offered by chef Boris Campanella. The wonderful sommelier Xavier wisely directed us towards a white Burgundy and a Château neuf du Pape for me and an assortment of non-alcoholic drinks (teas and/or coffee of various origins but all original or even rare). These drinks determined a suite of 5 exceptional dishes of refinement and taste. From appetizers to dessert, it was a delight for the taste buds. A big thank you to Boris Campanella and his team who well deserve two Michelin stars that other restaurants have without reaching the level of l'Ecrin. We look forward to being able to return as soon as we can.

What can we say about this sublime moment. Meal on October 30 for my wife's birthday. What a great moment. First of all, obviously a legendary place, the Place de la Concorde and the Hôtel de Crillon. Then we are guided to the restaurant. Welcome at the entrance and take our clothes. Then we are seated at our table where we are immediately greeted by the staff, without unnecessary ambiguity, but with distinction and delicacy. We are offered champagne or cocktails…. To start. The choice of cocktails is brought with the first appetizers. The cocktails are perfect and the atmosphere in this small cozy room is pleasant. Begins the sequence of starters, main courses, pre-desserts, cheese, desserts… Breads and butters made on site. A total delight. Dishes with subtle flavors and great delicacy. We took the formula with 7 Legendary Wine Sequences. It was perfect from start to finish. The people who took care of us at the table were once again very discreet but very present. We greatly appreciated the explanation of the dishes. The sommeliers say perfect. The history, the explanation of the wines, their locations... and also thank you for changing that of my wife and my daughter on one of the choices to suit their tastes... in the end a fantastic evening. Thank you and a nod for the 2 plates of chocolates, one for his birthday and the other for our recent wedding. The attention to my wife on her way out was particularly appreciated. To do again with desire and joy. Many thanks to the teams this evening in the dining room and in the kitchen Small note for those who come a little effort on the outfit, to also live up to the place, would also be a mark of respect for the staff, because all the same…

Both service and ambiance is excellent. The setting and interior design of La Cave is gorgeous. The sommelier was lively and gave really good wine suggestions to go with each course. She explained each bottles in depth and we enjoyed listening to her. The food was good as well although the presentation can be more interesting.

16/11/2024: Un café joliment décoré où on est accueilli avec le sourire et où on vous laisse le temps d’échanger, de se poser, de s’apaiser. Équipe sympathique par laquelle on ne se sent pas pressés. Tarifs maîtrisés pour le secteur. À recommander.
07/10/2024: Un bon petit bar/resto de quartier, mais je trouve les avis dithyrambiques un peu exagérés. C’est bien, mais n’exagérons pas. Les prix sont contenus, le personnel plutôt agréable, mais les plats sont standards, et les tables sont trop petites et trop rapprochées les unes des autres.

25/07/2024: Great discovery! Impeccable welcome, impeccable service 😊. The chicken is excellent as are the side dishes and dessert! I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely return to it.
