We are here in March and had the most amazing meal, with a notable very good service from the staff and in particular Barbara. Not only was she knowledgeable of the menu and the techniques, but also personable and down to earth too. She took her time to explain the dishes and also ensured that we were very well taken care of. A truly 5-star service!
I think I laughed more at this meal then any other meal in my life. I was laughing at the food. So, in some sense, the price was worth it for the laughter. This is not an eating experience, but a tasting experience. You get to honour the chef by sampling his delicious creations (and the flavours and textures are very interesting). Imagine a gourmet grocery store offering samples. That is what you will be served. For example, the meat dish consisted of a single thin slice of duck breast. They make sure to stuff you with bread so that you don't leave the restaurant feeling hungry. Overall, it was fun. But still, for the price, they could have given us, dare I suggest, two slices of duck breast. Ditto the fish and carrot puree (see photo, the piece of fish was about 2 inches long), and every other dish. Dessert was sufficient, but I'd rather fill myself on protein rather than sugar. In terms of taste and creativity, I rank the food highly. But I didn't just come to taste, but to eat. So for that reason, I am giving it 3 stars for food.
We asked about ingredients due to a food allergy and were not completely told the truth. One server told the table next to us one thing and our server told us differently. Management told us the same as 1 of the servers, but not sure how such a highly rated restaurant doesn't have trained servers on ingredients.
