We went in for the chic historical setting and the crowds: it seems to be the place to be in Biarritz. So we waited... for a small spot to squeeze into a tiny table. And we waited some more, because it was packed. No surprise there. We ended up with two teas at €7.90 each and a pain au chocolat. To top it all off, we got a scolding from the cashier because we didn't say "chocolatine." We should just let it go, we don't care.

A renowned but rather run-down establishment. Its only redeeming feature is a large bay window overlooking the main beach when it rains. It's quite cramped, with a ton of chipped crockery for a coffee and overpriced pastries. Even the staff's black uniforms aren't spotless. You'd be better off buying a Russe or a Basque cake at Paries or Adam, for example, and eating it on a bench with a takeaway coffee.

Always a cherished moment! A unique and moving atmosphere and a stunning view (palm trees and the ocean). Extensive tea selection. Pastries enjoyed down to the last crumb!

On my second trip to Biarritz, I wanted to try this tea room, which looked nice and the view was appealing, but what a disappointment! It was expensive, and one of the waitresses wasn't very friendly—no smile at all. Luckily, the waiter, who was much more cheerful, made up for it. The view, which is so attractive from the outside, is a bit disappointing: a view of the ocean, yes, but also of the parking lot below. I went once, but not twice.

07/01/2026: I was surprised; we didn't know where to get something quick and affordable. We decided to try some lettuce sandwiches with ham and cheese, and they were delicious—I wasn't expecting them to be so good. The price was good at €6, and you can eat at the tables outside. The waiter was friendly.
