I am changing my opinion. It’s still a very good bakery and my neighborhood bakery that I’ve been going to for several years. However, in recent months the sellers have changed. The new salespeople are much less pleasant and friendly. Limit the impression of disturbing them. The other day I wanted to go buy a cake and I was told that I had to order (even though there were always cakes in the window). I leave and pass the bakery again 2 hours later a cake was in the window. Today I go there to buy a pastry, no saleswoman just a man, clearly not from the bakery, who says “she will come back”. 10 minutes later still no saleswoman. I left. Patisserie Tholoniat pull yourself together!

I bought a croissant and a pain au chocolat. They came out of the oven and I finished them all in a second. It was really delicious 😋

I live across the street from a buzzy bakery. A marketing victory, every morning a long line of tourists forms, victims of the sheepish opinions of Internet users. I'm not saying that the products offered are not good, but they do not deserve their reputation. And the price is a real ripoff. Too bad for the victims of social networks. At Tholoniat, it’s quite the opposite (Paris 10) First of all, you are always greeted with a smile. The reputation of the house has been established in a confidential manner, by true gourmands who free themselves from ready-made comments. They let their palate speak, they experiment, they taste and no doubt don't want to talk about it too much for fear of distorting the place and its confections. I won't tell you about Tholoniat, a house specialty which is a pure marvel and which deserves to be tasted at least once in your life. Everything is good at Tholoniat, the cakes, the bread, the chocolates. I like their flans, a childhood flavor, where the balance between a shortcrust pastry that is still a little crumbly and the soft and very slightly firm combination is perfect. A pretty brown color of the skin on the top brings a slight taste of almost caramel to the pairing with the good taste of milk egg and vanilla. This is very rare, because most often the bottom is pasty, the equipment rubbery when there is not a kind of shiny jelly on the top which should make this tasteless commodity more attractive. Better yet, the heretical novelty is to put rum in the flan, banishing in the same gesture the childish target and destroying all the subtle balance between the basic elements which make the charm of the flan. Because it must be said, flan is an everyday cake, without anything sophisticated, that's its charm and that's also why we come to it so easily. I thank Tholoniat for still allowing me this little pleasure at a price that remains very reasonable.
