PAUSE Pressee sur Bayeux

We visited this café/bistro twice in quick succession. On our first visit (just the two of us with our dog), everything was truly excellent: very friendly service, delicious food, and a hot chocolate that we particularly remember fondly. On our second visit, this time with three of us and our dog, we were again seated at the same very small table, despite the extra person. In our opinion, this didn't do justice to the limited space and comfort, and it unnecessarily restricted our visit. Unfortunately, the quality this time didn't live up to our first visit either. The hot chocolate tasted noticeably different, and the food was mediocre at best. My son and I ordered the same dish (a kind of burger), which was also served incorrectly: I received both bottom patties, and my son received both top patties. As a result, the flavors were, of course, inconsistent. We found this very disappointing, as our first impression was entirely positive. We hope it was an isolated incident, because this café has a lot of potential.

While passing through Bayeux, we stopped twice for breakfast. Very good, with a very warm welcome and quick service.

Delicious, you can eat during siesta🙃 fast service 👌🏼 delicious crepes and desserts. I recommend for lunch in Bayeux.

All the best one might have hoped to find in France- delicious food, an absolutely charming host who was funny, patient, and persistent in offering us opportunities to understand and express ourselves in French. We arrived the first morning in Bayeux very early and after serving us all, she insisted on taking a group photo of our family in front of the café. I love to watch highly competent people at work. I love it! This flower of French culinary arts ought to be teaching cooking, hospitality, and interpersonal skills at an international level. You will love the food, but you will go back for the warmth and and welcome you find at Pause Preseé.

Quick, fresh food. It was a simple, yet delicious breakfast. The women working were happy and helpful.
