Penati al Baretto sur Paris

The service was impeccable, very polite, friendly, and attentive to the customer; it was very pleasant. The food was quite good, but given the price range, I expected dishes with even more excellent and remarkable flavors. The beef as a second course was unfortunately too salty; the restaurant gave us a discount on the bill as an apology, which was a very kind gesture. The setting is elegant, comfortable, and dimly lit, which is exactly what one looks for.

Italian cuisine is defined by its authenticity (both ingredients and cooking techniques). This is as authentic as you will get outside Italy. All the ingredients are from Italy and the cooking is sublime. Their focaccia is probably the best we had outside Italy. Their olive oil from Southern Sicily was fruity with low acidity. (It is produced by two sisters and it is available for sale at the restaurant) The lentil soup for entree was amazing as was the extra cheesy parmigiana melanzane. We both had Veal Milanese (breaded veal cutlets) and they were simply outstanding. The accompanying roasted vegetables were nicely al dente. The service was attentive without being intrusive, which is hard to do. Two suggestions to the restaurant: one, add reasonably priced wines to the wine list, especially for the lunch menu. Two, promote the restaurant in social media, as this is how people find out about things. In any case, this is not a cheap Italian restaurant but it is one of the most gastronomically rewarding restaurants you will visit, especially if your priorities are quality of the ingredients and excellence of cookery. There is an Italian restaurant next door (and we ate there also) but there is no comparison. We paid 39 euros for entree and main dish per person (lunch menu), which we felt was more than fair. We paid 76 euros for a bottle of lovely Tuscan wine. We wish there was a cheaper wine option, but we will be back.

The high price is justified by the meticulous and highly refined cuisine. In short, it's absolutely delicious!

Everything was just majestic from the moment you enter the restaurant! Very nice greeting, amazing host and sommelier. I ordered Asparagus soup while we also had monkfish and pasta on the table, every single bite was just a pleasure and joy to taste. Must go place while in Paris! Reservation for pick hour would definitely be a must.

It was definitely one of the best places I've eaten here in Paris. The taste of the dish reminded me of Tuscany ❤️ The atmosphere is beautiful, elegant, and cozy. The service was so attentive, so delicate, impeccable! I will be back very soon. Definitely a 10/10!

The value for money is very average, and no effort is made to offer any pleasant drinks to those who don't wish to consume alcohol. This was my fourth evening at this restaurant, which is becoming increasingly disappointing... and it was my last.

A very nice Italian restaurant with one Michelin star. The view overlooking the Invalides is a great part of the experience. We enjoyed the lunch menu, and everything was excellent. They tend to suggest truffle-based dishes, but the prices are quite prohibitive. The staff are very professional.
