Prêt à Manger sur Paris

While waiting for my TGV, I'm at Pret A Manger in Gare de Lyon. A girl my age is at the till. What a surprise! She treated me with a level of care I've only experienced in restaurants and cafes of a completely different caliber. A waitress in a busy, bustling train station, and she manages to provide this kind of service... Nearby is the Pierre Hermé pastry shop, where I often stop for a coffee and macaron. At ten times the price, they treat you like you've just arrived at Dachau... The price, the famous name on the storefront, the decor, the taste—NOTHING will ever replace the interaction you get with a competent person. I highly recommend it.

Quick service and friendly cashier. But a latte and a croissant cost €7.50. That's expensive.

The poor reviews for this loan are unjustified. The prices are fair, the service impeccable, and the space quite large. Thank you.

Beware of misleading labels, especially the one for the bread roll. The label says "Diamond-shaped bread & Butter," but they never have butter at the checkout, yet the bread roll is still sold for €1. Since I didn't check the bag right away and had left the store, when I returned a minute later to ask for a refund after noticing the missing butter and seeing on the receipt that I had paid €1 for the bread and butter, they refused to refund me because I had left the store with the wrapped bread roll, and also because, according to them, the butter was free and the bread was priced at €1. After explaining that the label influences a customer's purchasing decision and that I therefore asked for either a refund or the butter, they finally refunded me after a 15-minute wait with the manager and after I made a scene about it. After checking their website, I found that this bread is sold with butter, which means I was right and it's a rip-off. Always ask for a receipt because in case of a dispute, they won't issue a refund without one.

Pret, before catching your train, is always a good choice: quick service, places to sit while you wait, and a calm atmosphere. A big thank you to the team member who was incredibly kind and made me an excellent flat white, even though they were out of ice! :P

The staff are very nice, but the chocolate frappe doesn't taste like chocolate; I think there isn't enough in it (unlike other Pret). Also, the music they play is awful 😭 Please just put on some background music, not covers of people singing off-key on repeat 🙏🏼

The food was very good and the welcome was truly warm. A huge thank you to Guy for being so kind and helpful!
